errr, my bad... I meant a gig where the crowd had to pay for tickets (although, they randomly gave me free tickets - could be bias)

Love Drain but 6-7 hardcore bands in a single night sounds exhausting to me. Im all about mixed bills these days so can have a bit of a breather in between the chaos.

I’m already dreading tomorrow’s sale. If I don’t get a ticket I’m gonna be so angry

I felt like an old person last week when I got excited for Zulu show to start at 7 and it was only a three band bill but then ended up changing to like 8 doors open and the concert wasn’t over until like 10:45

I want show done by 10 tbh it still took me like 30 minutes to get home since it’s across town

Probably. Question is are they still confident in doing arenas/amphitheaters on their own or do they need strong support?

It would help a lot of venues just opened doors 30-45 minutes before show start instead of an entire hour before. There's a venue in Portland that routinely opens doors and hour and a half before the show starts and unless it's a stadium or maybe arena show that just seems excessive.

    5- doors
    5:30- first band
    6:15 - second hand
    7- third band
    8:15-9:30 - last band

This is the live music experience we all deserve.

problem is, with work and traffic most people would show up sometime around the third band with a schedule like that

    Things have changed.

Well there should never been four-band bills!

I would maybe make it in time for the third band with a schedule like that. That seems like, as you said, a sure fire way for lots of people to miss certain opening acts. I think it's annoying when shows start at like 9 and there's four bands playing or something but 7PM/8PM start isn't bad.

Best show I saw this year was Wednesday and hotline tnt. Two band bill. Music started promptly at 8pm and was finished by 10. Was home by 10:30.

also if shows start to early you have no time to eat and with everyone passing out it's probably bad to discourage that haha, I know you can eat at 10 but it's limited and not everyone can eat that late

I’ve heard people echo this opinion for years. Fans love it. Bands love it. It allows venues to double book in the same day. Yet I never see that many happen.

it’s just like when you come in to work on a Monday and ask any co worker “how was your weekend?” And they chuckle and say “not long enough” and you do that every week to multiple people and eventually just realize human beings are not meant to work 5 days a week.

matinee shows are a universal truth yet some inexplicable force is preventing the powers that be from realizing it or we the people from demanding it

When I lived in Chicago I liked that most of Chicago shows and even festivals ended by 10.

Although once I went to see IDKHow and the show was over a little after 8, I exited the venue and the sun was still up. It was a weird feeling and I felt I wasted my evening.

I imagine a Charli XCX tour has to be brewing. Can she finally do arenas?

I heard rumors of a Troye Sivan coheadliner. That could probably hit arenas

The venue in Boston they’re playing typically has shows done by 9:30 or so since the venue is also a night club
