When I was confirming my purchase it mentioned that pre-orders cannot be cancelled after 1/27/17 due to the digital download becoming available. One less week to wait!

 

Hmm, I have to listen again, but I think it's referring back to meeting her new husband and her name being different. (Which also is related to the "Oh-what's-his-name" line too.

EDIT: Listening back now, it definitely could go either way. I think either line really works and hits hard.

 

New song is a real jam

I like that they printed a shirt with the "Lookers" artwork. Wish it was in one of the bundles, but I don't mind giving this band a little more of my money.

 

I like the verses a whole lot on Bad Catholics, but the chorus hasn't hit me as hard as Lookers did. Still a solid jam. Love that the imagery is still alive and well with these guys. Really pumped for this record.

Imagery has always been what draws me to this band. "You'll carve your names into the Paupack Cliffs just to read them when you get old enough to know that happiness is just a moment" So damn good

 

I love the artwork. Song is dope. verses better than chorus, specifically the 2nd one.

 

Is lookers on the album?

 

Went with the hoodie and vinyl option. Would have been nice to get the green variant, but oh well.

Love the 13 song album. I'd guess that Thick as Thieves will be the next song that is released since they've been playing it on tour.

 

Absolutely. When I heard the "In a cloud full of nicotine, in a teenage memory." bit from Lookers I was like "Fuck. They still got it."

 

I wonder if that line is a callback to Gates... "It's not hard to fall for a waitress / when you both smoke / smoke the same cigarettes"

 

I went to order it and shipping is $38.95. Thats double the price of the record. No wonder why I stopped collecting vinyl.

 

Think it's a callback to Nothing Feels Good Anymore, "I met the party in a cloud of nicotine, exhaled by drunk 20-somethings."

That would be a cool continuation of the story if so. The whole meta-story thing was one of the reasons I love the The Wonder Years, so I would be very okay with them doing this haha.
