That's only UK currently, right? It should sell well, BFMV are icons over there and they are playing their most well known album.

Tickets bought for Friday over here. Can’t believe the value on this one, I haven’t seen any of these bands yet!

Drain tour is stacked beyond belief. Wish I could go to a date with Tongues, but I'll gladly take Drain, Terror, Scowl, Angel Du$t, End It and Dead Heat

Will probably see this pop up more, right? Seems like the market was saturated with festivals for a while.

I think the hyper-targeted/curated festival still has a ton of opportunity. The days of throwing everything at the wall and having, like Doja Cat and The Lumineers headline a bunch of acts that someone booked due to high streams is probably coming to an end soon. 2024 is not 2014 and with so many other alternative entertainment options (with a heavy increase in virtual and streaming options), it's just tougher to move tickets to the events. Another fact is the demo that a lot of these festivals are chasing (16-30) are, essentially, being priced out.

For the fests for the most part you have to rely on people traveling…so when every single major city has a rest where they need 40-50k to show up and they are all headlined by the killers and dojo cat there just isn’t enough of a market for that.

I think the only big fests that will survive are Coachella, Lolla and maybe Bonnaroo. At this rate, the other big fests can’t keep up and curate solid lineups (as we’ve witnessed this year) and more targeted fests (like the ones Goldenvoice put on) will probably be the way going forward.

The obvious exception is Riot. They’ll probably stick around too but don’t really fit the mold of the big fests

  18. Sparta, Spitalfield, and the Downwrite showcase would be the only things I'd be interested in seeing on that Smartpunk fest haha.

Too many festivals now and very few actually have a special draw

Y’all saying too many festivals and Toronto, the fourth biggest city in North America, has absolutely fuck all. Literally all I’ve wanted my entire life. We had a warped date most years before that went away, and then they teased us with riot fest for a few years. And since 2015… nothing lol

I live in NYC, we only have one, though if you count the outer NJ/CT boroughs, I guess 2-3.

I know there’s like a million bands on the tour and they all need to get paid but $50 before fees is a lot (for me) even though I’d like to see Drain so I’ll probably hold off and see if there are cheaper resale tickets closer to the show.
