I don’t think I’ll ever leave America, but definitely the thing that most makes me want to move somewhere else is the food situation. Both in terms of costs and quality. My friends who have moved elsewhere say that that’s the biggest difference they see - they feel healthier without really eating any different because the food just isn’t so processed/artificial.

The thing I don't understand is why? Why would they want to help him delay? I get that Alito and Thomas are extreme partisans, but I don't get what's actually in it for them to slow roll this. Is it as simple as not wanting to make a decision that'll piss off the people who treat them to fancy trips? I know I'm being naive but even the most cynical reason for doing this doesn't make sense.

Because there know Presidential Immunity is a load of bullshit that even they can't sell, but they also know there a lot of dumb Americans out there who'll eat up the "iNoCeNt UnTiL pRoVeN gUiLtY" bullshit and still be fine voting for Trump in the general but wouldn't vote for him if a guilty verdict got turned in.

By pushing this back to April, waiting until May/June to get a ruling, means Trump can effectively hold out the clock on the trial until after the election which at that point, if he wins, he can throw the whole thing out.

just kidding, I hope you feel better quickly and nobody else in the family gets it. this last time I had covid I managed to not spread it to anyone else in the house. and a few weeks ago, both of my kids and my wife all ended up with the flu, my wife bad enough to have to go to the hospital overnight, and I somehow dodged it, so there is hope

 

But I don't get what they get out of it. They aren't doing it out of the goodness of their hearts.
