Addendum about Cold Steel IV: in the real final battle, they absolutely did an Endgame-level "on-your-left" portals scene and it is fucking glorious.

 

Just had my first win in Balatro!!!

Finished Lords of the Fallen. Genuinely don’t even know why they had that final boss, should’ve just ended it with the boss prior and have a cutscene lol

 

And finally got Win #5 in Balatro, that Black Deck is really rough to pilot, so slow to get going.

 

really wish i could pick up Balatro based on y'all hyping it up but i spent the very last of my disposable income for games/entertainment on Penny's Big Breakaway

this game is really charming!! it really does have that Sega Saturn (Dreamcast? idk those consoles) vibe to it. through the art style and game design.
it's level based, you can see the influence from the studio having made Sonic Mania in the way you can build momentum- speed runs are encouraged from the start.
it's a great game to just pick up and play, no big story to remember or objectives; just get to the end.

I'd like to try getting more platinums but I have too many games in my backlog lol. The only plat I have currently is Horizon Forbidden West. I may try SM2 after the new game+ update gets released next week though.
