Good call. That would be the type of song I’d post lol

Somehow narrowly escaped last place with my pick, thanks @bobsheiskawy ! Learned a lot that round lol. I'm going such a completely different direction this round.....

Any bets that this might be the 'longest' playlist, runtime wise?

I considered an 83-minute long track, but I don't think we have many funeral doom fans in the group. If I weren't in second place I would've gone for it.

My second choice was actually just under 4 minutes, but does a lot with that time. I'm not going to post it yet, I think there's a decent chance someone else picks it, but I will if it's not on the playlist.

That would've been absolutely diabolical and mildly hilarious.

  6. Anyways, I came in last this round and I just wanna say more people should listen to The Garden because they make really wild and uninhibited music. Truly one of my favorite songs and music videos. This live set is also a ton of fun and endlessly rewatchable to me.

I think Jerusalem is only around 50 minutes, but I'll spoil the first one, it was Bell Witch's Mirror Reaper:

The title Mirror Reaper is indicative of the Hermetic axiom "As Above, So Below", written with two sides to form one whole. The song is both its own and its reflection, as an opposite is whole only with its contrary. Our focus as a band has always been the perception of ghosts and the implied archetype of the dichotomy of life/death therein. Mirror Reaper is a continuation of that concept.

During the writing process we were devastated by the loss of our dear friend and former drummer, Adrian Guerra. In love and respect to his memory, we reserved an important yet brief section in the song for him that features unused vocal tracks from our last album. This specific movement serves as a conceptual turn in the piece, or point of reflection. We believe he would be proud of it as well.

Mirror Reaper was the first collaborative writing project with the new line up, and Adrian's death during it brought extra emotional weight. We sought to match the complexity and weight of these events within the composition of the piece.

  17. Is the sequencing just randomized I'm assuming?

A few of the other songs I considered are on here, including my second choice.

One of the first ones I thought of is "The Twistinside" by Everclear, but "Santa Monica" from the same album was just on the karaoke playlist. Learning this song on guitar was so damn fun back in high school:
