I have no not been to 3 amphitheater shows in my lifetime but out of genuine curiosity, what makes it so bad? I saw Weird Al there YEARS ago and don’t recall hating it but have no context of comparison

 

Trivium and Bullet For My Valentine seem to be reading a 20 year tour for both Ascendency and The Poison. But all signs have been pointing to 2025, which seems weird to tease or announce a tour a whole year in advance if you're not like Metallica big.

 

Gonna throw in a mild endorsement for Edgefield - i don't live in the state so it's not my go to venue, the couple times I have gone I've enjoyed the views and the vibes. But it does have a very doofy layout for parking, admittance, and concessions. I don't doubt people have had awful experiences there and that it gets real old when it's your only close choice for an outdoor venue.

I’m into the prospect of a Yo La Tengo/Built To Spill tour. That would soothe my 90’s indie heart

 

They’ve expanded the capacity to 7000 from 5000 without doing any upgrades to the venue. I saw The National there last year and it was awful. The expanded capacity makes it so anyone who doesn’t show up early has to sit so far away that you can’t hear anything because they didn’t upgrade the sound system. I could hardly hear anything from the back and the view from the back half of the venue is pretty awful. Parking also sucks and it takes forever to get in/out of the venue. That neighborhood is not equipped for a venue of that size at all. Also for someone who lives in Hillsboro, that drive sucks haha

I know LN was planning a temporary amphitheater that was 8K capacity near downtown before Covid hit and that would have been a nice central location. I think Covid threw those plans out as well as the HOB venue that was supposed to be in the Lloyd Center.

 

Fuck. This lineup is more sick than I thought it’d be

NYC-area: You'll stand in a parking lot to see J Cole headline Governors Ball and like it!
