Some of the funniest things I have ever seen. Podcasts are mostly navel gazing.

 

Grapes are the best fruit because besides being delicious, they're almost always awesome at any time of the year.

Watermelon and peaches are great when they're great, but it's all too easy to get lackluster versions.

Grapes though, even when they're lackluster, are still delicious.

And sports are just entertainment so they shouldn't be separated

 

Also, you're right.

 

My list was focused on extended storytelling/entertainment mediums so no music or poetry even though they could count. Sports between legitimate competitors serve a different purpose for me

At their best, film can rival literature for how viscerally it can hit you with a concise story. But you definitely have more freedom to chase greatness in writing.

 

Books length and development time is a significant advantage. Give a brilliant mind 5 years+ to work without restraint, they have the space to deeply explore ideas, worlds and characters and the time to work it and revise. This is unmatched in other mediums, unfortunately for books they are no longer the cultural zeitgeist and top creatives are more likely to pursue other paths.

Films greatest power comes from collaboration, when great directors, writers and actors come together supported by $$$ & productions teams it's magical. Its weakness is that it requires industry and that comes with the interfering presents of politics and economics.

 

Books are just an old people medium.

Nah its fair, in the same way tictoc is for babies. There are no contemporary writers who are cultural icons for the youth, its not books fault everyone is addicted to screens.
