I know I might be off base but I think it’s pretty fucked that they are using The Rock to try to distract everyone from all of the Vince stuff. Rollins could easily face someone else and Brock wasn’t a huge draw for WM anyways. Bron could easily fill that void if pushed right. This is mostly to distract from the Vince news. Feels gross and forced. Typical Endeavor BS. I feel really bad for Cody. He is really getting railroaded all of this and deserves better.

 

Graves & Barrett are a hilarious team. I don't remember them ever pairing two jerk heel announcers together without telling one of them to play the nice guy.

 

Truly insane how many great wrestlers there are in WWE that never get used right or have any investment put in them which results in them needing The Rock as an emergency plan (and even worse since it was likely to happen anyway in 2024 by the sounds of it).

What is LA Knight gonna do at Mania? Likely nothing again? Why can’t Finn be made to at least look like a competent and talented dude when he easily is? Why did Trips hire Kross again to just turn into a bloated wet fart? What are his plans for Andrade? Maybe a run with the US title at some point?

WM29 was 11 years ago, Rock stopped wrestling essentially in 2004. Imagine being in the Attitude Era or Ruthless Aggression era and having one of the wrestlers in the main event of Mania be one of the most popular wrestler from 20 years earlier who has only wrestled 5-10ish matches since then. An equivalent would be like Cena facing Jake Roberts for the title at WM29 lol

all this ends up doing is getting people to talk about both Vince McMahon and how they fucked up the build to their biggest show. they could've at the very least rewarded the people who watch week in and out, but instead made one of the most boneheaded decisions of all time

the only potential positive outlook is it doesn't make Cody the face of the company during their biggest scandal, which he doesn't deserve

You just signed a historic gigantic streaming deal, you announce one of biggest stars in the world is now a boardmember, you're re-debuting one of the most popular wrestlers of the last 20 years, you're all set to have a satisfying payoff to a storing you've been building for 4 years, you keep saying "we're entering the greatest time in our business since the Attitude Era". It all goes to complete shit in almost 2 weeks. Olympic levels of shitting the bed.

It’s pretty wild to me how many guys this fucks over. You’ve got Cody, Gunther, LA Knight, Drew and even Seth gets fucked in the process

 

I’d have to imagine this isn’t gonna sit well in the locker room considering how respected Cody is

 

I wonder if there's enough backlash, it could force them to put Cody in the match eventually. Like the yes movement pretty much

Could honestly see them trying to spin this as a “history making decision for how the Rumble works!” and that Cody opens the door to WHEN the Runble winner challenges the champion and is not “boxed in” to facing a champion at…. The biggest PPV of the year… lmao (not to mention that’s what MitB is for and an extra dash of dumb since the Rumble is logically the harder match to win to almost get the exact same opportunity).

It won’t work, but I could see them trying that with how dumb everything else is going.

 

I think Cody is just going to say he needs to win the title his dad won first then he can win the other one
