More of a Dude Ranch song to me but yeah it's fun for sure. Definitely one of the better songs in the sluggish second half.

I think more than anything the track sequence is questionable. If I go track by track there's nothing I flat out dislike, the joke songs are whatever. They're so short they don't bother me. Even though it's not long in time, maybe just two songs less and better tracklisting would've helped the flow. But it's a minor complaint for me. Really "Home" is the only one I skip on any regular basis. But like I'm glad all the songs exist haha. I still listen to it all the way through like once a week at this point.

I guess I don't understand your post. Are you saying that just because the song it sounds like it could be from an earlier album someone should like it?

Yeah I agree it sounds like it could have been pulled from Enema but there are songs from that album that I think are filler and don't really like either. If that song was on Enema it would probably be my 3rd least favorite track, only ahead of The Party Song and Aliens Exist.

Yes this exactly. The album is very top heavy and drags on after No Future until Left Alone/Rabbit Hole/San Diego then drags again until it ends. I'll never complain about blink giving us a 17 track album. The worst songs on the album I still like and enjoy. But like you said the track listing is questionable, which is a surprise because blink usually does an excellent job with tracking.

I enjoy Home but I have to really be in the mood to listen to it. I actually like Built This Pool but Bro is just lame but like you it doesn't bother me because it's short and the guitar sounds good in it.

Yeah honestly Home/Kings/Satellites is easily the weak point, and when that's followed by that incredibly strong trio, actually that's probably the only thing that kills the flow. Cause I love Cynical through Sober. If just those three in the middle were cut it would be a much tighter album. And like I say, I like those songs still. But tough decisions! Haha. I don't mess with tracklistings but if I did that's what I'd do.

Yeah the only thing I can think of is if you were to keep all the tracks would be to keep Cynical through Kings as is then put in Left Alone, followed by TS, Rabbit Hole, and San Diego. That way you split up some of the filler. Then put Bro in front of California and have that close out the album.

Yeah that works too. I think the next album they should get a panel of us in there early to work on the sequencing, we're doing a good job I think haha.

Haha sounds good. Like I said blink usually tracks their albums perfectly, I wouldn't change a single song from Dude Ranch to Untitled. I think they could have tracked Neighborhoods and California better though, so yeah they might need to hire us to hang out with them for a week or two, hell I'll pay them to do it haha.

Up through Untitled I wouldn't change a thing either. I think some things took a back seat with the last two full lengths, even though this time went smoothly there was probably a sense of impatience to just get it out there? So attention to detail like that might have suffered. I think each subsequent album this lineup makes will just get better in all aspects. Like this was a fun summer album, if Mark and Matt really tapped into their Cure and Crimson sensibilities they could make such a cool album. I really hope for one like that. I've said it a bunch of times but I really hope now that this iteration of blink has been accepted it frees them up to experiment and just make the best music that comes out without going "is this blink enough?"

I love how much reddit hates Feldmann. But then I saw this bit of sanity:

"He's the reason we have San Diego. I think he should stay."

I'm fine with that logic lol.

Funny because the verses sounds like a From Here to Infirmary b-side to me. I guess it's kind of mix of a both albums.

Apologies, yes, that is what I meant. I guess I just assume that everyone in this thread likes all blink prior to their 2005 breakup lmao. Very silly of me to assume.

And, yeah, The Party Song annoys me, I tend to skip that one and All The Small Things. But I'll take Aliens Exist over both of those any day :P

I actually have no idea what either of those are heh. But, yeah, to each their own! It just always seems odd to me that there seem to be a fair amount of people who don't dig that song. My only complaint is that it's too short :D

I mean Feldmann recorded the joke songs, but those are all Mark. I don't blame Jerry Finn for "Grandpa's An Asshole" lol.

Lmao is it bad for me to say I'd prefer "Grandpa's An asshole" to any of the joke tracks on California? xD.

Doesn't really say much when I'm talking about raunchy-ass jokes that shouldn't even be funny anymore at 24, but hey, whatever.

I laugh at the joke songs, call me immature, Idc. Travestite and The Family Next Door are underrated early blink joke songs, so stupid, yet funny.

Lol, I feel you there. I've played and sang "Grandpa" on my guitar tens of times to my own parents, so that tells you the state of my sense of humor haha. My mom thinks it's fucking hilarious.

Transvestite is the ugliest, grossest blink-182 song. It's completely irredimable and it's premise and lyrics have no defense in 2016.

Are those on Flyswatter? I've never listened to it come to think of it.

I don't think I had ever heard "Transvestite," then I saw it was on "Buddha," which makes sense. That whole thing is unlistenable.

Besides the bad quality, I think "Time" "21 days" "Point of View" and "Don't" are pretty solid songs that I would've liked to hear redone/reworked for Cheshire or Dude Ranch.. and I even think "Alone" (Flyswatter) would've sounded cool with an Untitled era sound

It's cool. I like about 98% of the songs blink have written since Dude Ranch. And the ones I don't really like I still listen to and can find them enjoyable depending on my mood (minus the bonus joke songs from TOYPAJ). And I do like TOTTM I just think its one of the weaker songs on California even if it sounds like a throw back.
