good morning i wish i was sitting outside at Nomad Lounge right now

Heading down on Thursday and it is very hard to be at work this week

 

Watched the trailer for the park this morning, looks sick

 

so is that the first of the epic universe areas?

 

super Mario world, how to train your dragon, Harry Potter ministry of magic, and dark universe (Frankenstein, werewolf, etc) and celestial park

 

are they all gonna be open at the same time though

 

it doesn't matter I guess, they should all be open by the time I can go in 4 years

 

yes they’re all opening together in 2025

So many great hit piece tweets against Disney this morning

 

its funny how disney has been expanding its parks, adding new areas and rides, expanding its resort offerings pretty steadily over the last decade and the narrative is still "disney is doing nothing theyre in trouble!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

 

I knew everything that was announced and still smiled like an idiot watching the hype video. I haven’t seen a hype video that good since the announcement of The Greatest Generation. Haha.

 

I had exactly the same reaction. Going to try to make it there next year.

 

That EU seafood restaurant concept looks cool on paper, but I don't know how comfortable I'd be eating a meal in a giant glass terrarium knowing the entire park can see me eating lol

 

I’m sure that will be the most pricey. So you can just sit there and look out at the peasants as they eat their moon pizza.

Im wondering what type of virtual queue we will see because Universals app interface isn’t the greatest. Hopefully they put some cash into new tech. This park screams virtual waits. They’ve got I believe 6 bars in the park area so they definitely want that food and beverage money.

Dark Universe is such a big gamble and I can’t believe they went for it. You are pretty much saying we think this area will be successful without anything for kids 10 and under. The preview of it made it more horror than I thought it would be. I was expecting some level of campy.

Prices at the Helio are gonna have to be in the $800-1,200

Disney will always be Disney and they will continue to have the same crowds but this absolutely opened up theme park visits to a new set of consumers that will not step foot in Disney. There was an opportunity to capitalize on this crowd and Disney failed. Maybe it’s best to keep the two separate.

Theme parks are the only thing I love as much as punk/emo so it’s gonna be a fun year watching this unfold.

 

Walking around Dark Universe after the sun goes down is going to be so much fun. The ride sounds like it’ll be amazing, early rumors mentioned the monsters wandering around the land (which seems to potentially be confirmed with the wording of the press release) and Danny Elfman doing the score just seems like it’ll be the coolest thing. Easily my most anticipated land
