They used to play here all the time, like 2-3 times a year before and after Schmaltz came out. Now I feel like their last two tours have skipped us…I wonder if the blowup of AF Records has something to do with it.

  3. hahaha it's not that - I'm Yankees fan. The venue is across the street from Wrigley so getting around there during games is always annoying.

4-band bill and doors are at 7...OOF

Wondering if SLS is going on last every night, despite it being a co-headliner. Even Oso Oso shared the tour poster with SLS above them. Typically co-headlining posters are tailored for each band, no?

They're playing a venue double the size of when they last headlined Cleveland a year ago. I think they'll be able to sell at least 75% of the venue out.

is it the same for you? Prestigious

I wish Sydney Sprague was third on the bill, but I'll be showing up early for this either way. Now I just need to figure out which date makes the most sense.

I’d love to be proven wrong, but I don’t think this show is going to sell super well in chicago. Oso Oso plays here literally all the time and Spanish Love Songs couldn’t sell out a -375 capacity venue last time they headlined here (Oso Oso also could not sell that venue out or a 300 cap venue last time they headlined here). Plus add a Cubs home game in the mix?

Again though, I would love to be proven wrong. I’m not a booker after all haha.

I haven’t seen Oso Oso in a while and never seen Spanish Love Songs so I’ll probably try and hit this up if I can.

  11. It's possible the other places that would be a better fit were already booked - I'd have guessed Bottom Lounge or Thalia and both have shows that night. Either way, I also hope this does really well.

Never have been able to get into Oso Oso and Paradise is my least favorite venue in Boston, so it's pretty much a double whammy for me in a bad way.

Might still make the trip because I desperately want to see them play a longer set. Just a much harder call to make when you've gotta travel 3 hours.

A weeknight at the Hawthorne is rough. Probably my least favorite venue in Portland. This is a maybe for me. Really wish it was a 3 band bill so the show either ended earlier or the coheadliners got more time.

The 4-band bill is absolutely headscratching, especially for a co-headliner. I guess that means they're probably playing 50-60 minutes tops, which is disappointing.

Either way, I'll be buying a ticket 100% to support them, but I'm not 100% sure I can even make it yet.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

A 4 band bill really isn’t surprising lol

Also like can this band even play more than 60 minutes? How much more do you want them to play lol, that’s a good majority of the 3 albums they would play songs from.

    Things have changed.

Yeah, an hour is the absolute most a band like this should be playing.

Yes, with three albums they can easily play longer than 60 minutes and have on previous headlining shows that were before the new album even came out. That’s not enough time play a majority of those albums and I don’t think that’s what anyone is asking for. SLS could easily do an 80-90 minute set at this point of their career.

I saw them last year a few months before No Joy was released. They played 15 songs.

Dylan isn't going to play a crazy long set. They'll play the hits and get the hell out there.

I've never understood headliners, even punk bands, playing 60 minute headlining shows. Feel like 75 minutes should be the absolute minimum and that's if the show is super fast-paced.

After 60-75 minutes I start to check out a bit unless it’s like, my all time favorite band or something. I don’t mind if headliners wanna play long sets when the shows start at 7 or something and they’re going on at 8-9 but when a headliner is starting at like 10 or 11 I’d much rather a not super long set so I can get home at a somewhat reasonable hour.

SLS is the band I would be least surprised to hear broke up at any given moment so, take what you can get IMO

Yeah, I think that take is correct. They have never seemed super happy to me in interviews (although their lyrics are so sunny and positive!). Plus I believe Dylan has threatened it openly
