Truly is, definitely should be loved at least as much as TBC and SWYA but imo deserves more than that

They really are a very consistently good band who seem to slip under my radar more than they should

To be fair, that probably isn't your fault. As far as active bands go, they've been on the quieter side since their last album it seems. And three years isn't a long time between albums, but it is on the longer side of a normal album cycle I am pretty sure.

Yeah, they've definitely been quiet. And I would say three years is on the longer side for sure compared to average.

It recebtly dawned on me how dark of an album Sound The Alarm is. That's a perfect example of an album I've heard hundreds of times and totally missed the meaning.

Gonna do this quick without thinking too much:
    Stay What You Are
    In Reverie
    Sound The Alarm
    Under The Boards
    Saves The Day
    Daybreak
    Through Being Cool
Can't Slow Down (not familiar with this one at all)

SWYA is the best album of this entire genre of music and some of you don't even have it first for their discog??????

Those are my first two for a reason. Should have put them on the same line.

Any combo of SWYA, IR, or STA at the top is valid to me, but In Reverie and STA are the ones that usually dominate it for me. In Reverie has no business not having the same rep, I can understand how STA might not be your bag though. Even if I love it.

SWYA are pretty easily my favorite. Like spo said it's one of the best this scene has ever produced.

But the bands catalog as a whole is really really great

Do any of you happen to have Songs in the Silence, the obscure track from the In Reverie era? A while back some guy traded it with me for Under the Boards demos and the only actual location I am somewhat certain it still exists is in my ex-girlfriends (6 years ago) old lap top.

And wait for lightening to strike to burn me up

Chris's lyrics are easily the biggest downfall of the later material; I think musically it's all pretty strong. I wish he still wrote in the vain of SWYA/IR, hell even STA was pretty good.

the surreal, gruesome, vivid violence of early saves the day lyrics is pretty incredible to behold tbh. i think part of it is that it never seems malicious and it's just metaphors for the most part but dude can REALLY string together a metaphor imo

I've always been curious about this, but does anyone know what Chris is singing in the background in the outro to "Rocks Tonic Juice Magic"?

Hmm that does sound like it. Would also make sense as a refrain from that line earlier in the song.
