My 6S works perfectly fine... but anytime my girlfriend pulls out her Matte Black 7 I'm so jealous lol. So pretty.

 

Yeah that's the only thing that kind of turns me off on them. Otherwise, I think they look awesome

 

My iMac is fucked. It starts up then shuts down while loading. I can't repair the disk for some reason. I have no fucking idea what to do

 

I'm freaking the fuck out

 

Have you tried safe mode? When this happened to my macbook the only solution was a complete reinstall of macOS and safe mode at least allowed me to access/back up my files before doing that.

 

Did you sit on that too?

 

I can't get it to boot in safe mode either. I'm gonna have to use target mode and transfer stuff I need to my dad's Mac then reinstall

 

Just had this happen to me on the Apple Support live chat. Now I have to change my iCloud password.

 

What year is it and what kind of hard drive is running in it?

 

2014 I just got off the phone with an apple tech guy ran through all the trouble shooting shit basically he said I have to do a data retrieval and get my shit which apple doesn't do then reinstall the OS so I'm boned because I have no back up

 

WHOOF this app Disk Drill is able to see all my stuff and says it's recoverable so I may as well toss down the 90 bucks it'll probably be cheaper than taking it somewhere

 

How far do you live from an Apple Store? The employees at a store are far more willing and understanding to retrieve your data than the ones over the phone. Do you have an external hard drive? Because at an Apple Store they can net boot into a known good OS access your drive and back up your stuff and then restore and install the new OS

 

Like fifteen minutes. But I bit the bullet on this software it seems to be doing the trick and should be easy, I booted using a thunderbolt connector with my moms iMac and its digging into my broken or whatever drive and grabbing everything I need

 

Definitely coming in on late October now. Wonder if they're just going to randomly announce one day that they are available now.

I don't use screen protectors but to say that some don't protect against shattering is just not true...

 

Sometimes even the cheap tempered glass ones you get at Five Below will protect from shattering. Smashed the crap out of what I thought was my screen once, but only broke the screen protector and my phone was just fine.
This is wild though.

 

I dropped my 6 from like 8" once without a screen protector and it shattered. I've had a screen protector on it ever since I got replaced and I've dropped it 100x from eye level without it shattering.

That's enough for me to keep one on.

 

ok got my most important files on an external and moving them over to my computer now, i had to do some weird shit in terminal to get my hard drive completely erased since its a fusion drive and apparently you can't erase in disk utility with those? seems weird. but anyway. glad this didn't turn into the catastrophe i really thought it was going to. and hey, i went from having like 20 gigs of space to over 500 since i only grabbed the absolute necessities (music, logic pro and all my plug ins for logic. oh and world of warcraft).

i'd rather use a case with a lip on it that protects the corners than use a screen protector. the bubbles annoy the shit out of me
