I don't think I saw any cool movies in theater as a kid. Unless we count rugrats in Paris which was iconique

I remember going to Jurassic Park and my mom had to take me out because I was scared. But Independence Day… that’s definitely a movie experience I remember from my youth. I remember the whole theater leaning forward during the alien autopsy then when it split open you just heard everyone jump back in their chairs

The main thing from Jurassic Park in theatres I remember is afterwords asking my dad "wait so was the T Rex actually a good guy at the end?" because it took out the Raptors, and him having to explain to me that isn't how it works.

Like my childbrain thought the T Rex had a surprise babyface turn.

    Movie theaters shouldn’t exist anymore

but I saw a preview screening of Superbad in an absolutely packed theater and it was the only time I thought “this is better than watching it at home”.

my friends and I quoted it to death before it even came out a few weeks later

Superbad in theatres was absolutely the top theatre experience of watching a movie with my friends in high school.

I will say this about Independence Day, i realised as an adult that the reason why that movie is show enjoyable isn't Will Smith, or the fun dialogue, or the CGI explosions. It is was because it was a showpiece of some of the best character actors of that era in one movie.

  12. Nasim Pedrad’s ‘Chad’ is returning for a second season, 1/19 on The Roku Channel, whatever that is. Assumed it was long gone, first season was like three years ago

Bill Pullman pulling weight in that movie. Best movie speech ever (not really… or is it?). Judd Hirsch just also the best in this movie

I mean Pen15 basically did that core concept Chad seems to be going for but cooler, and darker, and more interesting, and less lame .

I’ve seen the ads for what feels like forever while watching wrestling on TBS, I just don’t know how that was greenlit. And how is that what Nasim Pedrad is doing with her time

I have a distinct memory the week Superbad came out of some of my buddies in my Music Theory class were mad because Cera and Jonah didn't get laid at the end and me having to explain to them "the movie is about friendship dude"
