Player's Log: Trails of Cold Steel III.

Finished Chapter 1, and I am so in love with this game, it's unreal. Like, all the previous games were great, but I'm feeling like even if they all sucked, it still would've been worth it to get here.

I also just love how this game is still bringing all the previous arcs together. Rean, Laura, Fie, and Elliot join Agate to explore the ruins of Hamel, and every fucking body, villiain and hero alike, leaves flowers to honor the dead. Just a really great sequence of events. The amount of Sky name-dropping happening in this part of the chapter is making me squee in delight.

 

I'll have to wait til I get to 3 to say who I like best but yeah....Rex definitely seems to have more character to him even this early in the game.

My baddd XBC2. I think I remember some people complaining about all the different systems at you throughout the game but honestly I'm really enjoying it and not finding it confusing or hard to grasp at all. The ONLY thing I don't get is the mechanic revolving around the cloud tide and how it lowers and raises and different areas open or close up. I think it's only because I haven't come across any of that, as the open world of this area has some pretty high level enemies that def aggro so my exploration has been limited. But I'm still super early and it's probably something I'll come across and be like AH HAH.

 

I have been following Classic Tetris community for a few years since it was mostly dudes in their late 30's, and I have seen the skill level and the limits of the game increase more and more by younger and younger players every year. Crazy the the absolute peak has just been reached by a 13 year old kid

 

Also huge fuck off to any adults ragging on the kid. Being the first known person in 35 years to do so good they break one of the most played video games of all time at the age of 13 is an absolutely incredible achievement.

 

Alan Wake 2 folks, did you alternate between Saga/Alan or just focus on one?

I used google to find tycoon games on game pass and the article I looked at was old as hell since most of them weren’t on there anymore pain

 

I just got to that point and haven't decided how I wanna do this

 

I played Alan’s all the way until the game stopped me and switched me to Saga at a certain point. You can do what you want though and it makes no difference.

I started Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night. I guess one of the people that worked on Castlevania: Symphony of the Night made this! It’s a great metroidvania so far with cool graphics and an interesting story. I’m excited to play more later.
