it's so good. and I love Buried, it's definitely a weird deep cut though. iirc even the band don't like it

anyway I just snuck to the toilet to listen to Versions of You and it is insanely good. that mathy riff with the gruff vocals in the intro is nasty as hell and the bridge is fantastic. I'm officially hyped as hell

I did! It's a very good love song from Danny.

Dare I say the best line in pop punk having to do with being 23 years old?:eyes:

It’s just like the other two tracks: solid track - terrible mixing/production/whatever is making it sound like I downloaded it from KaZaa circa 2004 lol

I’m assuming the whole record is going to sound like that, at least to me, and that definitely brings my excitement down for this. Oh well.

I'll take these slightly muddy mixes over the Travis Barker production style that all pop-punk sounds like now in a heartbeat lol

I for one am kind of happy to not have an overwhelming wall of loud almost fake sounding guitar tbh. That being said I do also notice how "old" it sounds haha. There are times in songs where the music hitting louder and crisper is nice.

I actually dug his production on the new Blink record (I haven’t heard anything else he’s done recently though) so I would gladly take that over this muddy sound ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ hah

Travis’s production on the new blink record is crystal clear. No clue why anyone would have a problem with that, imo.

This newun has got some serious Agony & Irony vibes. No complaints from me. Love that there's clearly been some dedication toward the rhythm in the guitar parts on these tracks, really gives them a certain detail and virbancy that goes so well with the lyrics and vocals (majority of TA and MSIT fell flat because of this imo).
Hope the rest of the LP surprises like this!

Song rocks. I can hear what Matt was saying about avoiding power chords and spending more time writing guitar parts.

I am not a fan of the suffocating layers of everything, turns the vocals and drums robotic in a way that is just ugly to my ears. it's w/e though I still like the album fine, he got the three of them on the same page which is the most impressive feat lol

Finally got to listen, wow this sounds great. Def on track to be my favorite Dan song since MSIT. Gonna need to hear the clean version with headphones and hear those lyrics more clear

Skiba did say he spent a month just on guitars for the album in that Stryker interview, so that got me a bit more excited even before this 3 for 3

This is good, I do think the production is weird though. That interview got me hype for the record, can't wait!

The boys are 3/3 for me. There's such a fun energy to these songs that is undeniable.

Bad production can at best shortchange otherwise great songs from reaching their full potential.

To a point, yes. But this is a compressed reddit video stream of a rip of a song from an unknown source. The other 2 songs actually released from this sound just fine.

Also, Hello Exile is immaculately produced and I won't hear otherwise.
