Someone was talking about re-quels/pre-boots/soft reboots in another thread, and it just occurred to me that the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes might be the first ever soft reboot of a soft reboot.

Its a soft reboot sequel to a trilogy that was a soft reboot prequel to the original franchise.
