As I've been getting to know more about the guy I'm talking to, I feel like I can't have a long term relationship with him. It just wouldn't work out in the end. It's disappointing because I really hoped it would work out. He has qualities I look for, but rarely find. Part of me feels he's more in to me than I'm in to him. I'm damaged so it's hard for me to open my heart. On top of that I have major insecurity and self esteem issues to the point where I feel I don't deserve anyone. I've only ever felt a strong connection with one person, ever. With that another part of me feels like maybe I'm not meant to have a relationship and will have to live alone. Because how come it's so hard for me to form connections?

There's also someone that catches my eye, that seems like he tries to flirt with me. Not sure if he has a girlfriend. Oh the delimma.

First thing I've been invited to as part of a couple is a Halloween party where I'm meeting her best friend and said best friend's husband for the first time. I have never been to a Halloween party in my life. Cue intense anxiety about picking a costume.

 

This sounds like you're meeting your girlfriend's husband. I'd have anxiety about that too.

It's obvious to me he doesn't feel the same. He does misleading things that confuse/lead me on but overall I can tell that he isn't developing actual feelings and prefers to stay at an arms distance. I want/need to end things because I have developed feelings and it hurts every time there's some kind of reminder that it's all just totally casual. I don't know if I'm explaining myself well? Basically I am recognizing that I'm not good at the whole casual mysterious thing. I am an exclusive type person. Even if we weren't actually dating I would much prefer to know he wasn't pursuing/looking for anyone else at the same time.

 

That makes perfect sense.

Although, I would consider explaining yourself as part of it, rather than just ditching him. It might help.

Something else happened today that just confirmed that I need to break things off. I'm not going to just disappear though.

My friend, his partner and the woman from my previous post hung out this evening. We smoked some weed and had what seemed like a very deep philosophical/political conversation. As I sobered up, I thought perhaps I'd gone too dark when speaking about some of the topics that were on the table, but she texted me and we are going to hang out by ourselves tomorrow afternoon.

 

Slowly developing a massive crush on a girl who plays for the female side of my dodgeball team.
