    The rivalry is back on

    My Picks:
    Julius Peppers
    Antonio Gates
    Patrick Willis
    Reggie Wayne
    Torry Holt

Should Get In Soon Hopefully, Fine If This Year:
    Andre Johnson
    Devin Hester
    Dwight Freeney

    Borderline, Lean Yes:
    Jared Allen
    Jahri Evans

Borderline, Lean No/Hall Of Very Good:
    Darren Woodson
    Fred Taylor
    Eric Allen
    Rodney Harrison
    Willie Anderson

(realistically, if you’re a finalist, it’s a matter of when, not if, you’re inducted, so I’d imagine they’ll all get their jackets eventually and the order will be stupid and in favor of the less good olds)

When you hit a mothafucka, you hit that mothafucka Prestigious

Peppers, Willis, Andre, Freeney, Gates, Harrison, Allen should get in over him so that’s already 7

Wayne and Holt probably will as well, even though I think they weren’t as rare talents for the WR position as Fred was for the RB position they’re both more famous, played longer, won / accomplished more with their teams. So.

Yes. I don’t like NASCAR but I do like the idea of A) winding tracks that challenge the driver to judge speed, g forces, angles and the way inertia behaves at different gears / RPMs, B) leagues where every car responds differently, and it’s not aggressively standardized other than keeping their general speed & horsepower in the same range.

Indy Car racing is aight cause it has A while also being even faster than NASCAR. But what I really wish was on TV more (because of B) is like, German and Japanese regional racing leagues. Heck even the UK / Australian ones you can find on ESPN2 occasionally are pretty thrilling. I love seeing drivers leverage different behaving cars with different driving styles and some of them being amazing on certain tracks and terrible on others etc

I hate American style oval tracks and drag racing. I think it’s so dumb to put 1000 horsepower into a car just so it can go straight, that takes most the impressiveness out of driving fast to me. I get more excited about a nimble, sleek looking car that can accelerate and take corners extremely well, than like a long ass Chevy Camaro that’s tuned to go 200 mph but can’t handle an S curve past 50. (the new Corvette is aight but still.)

NASCAR is all about drafting and trying to go like 1 mph faster at a 0.1 degree sharper angle around turns than the next guy and that’s so boring. Even when they do have those few races on curvy tracks, those cars are just not built for that. I prefer variety in racing and drivers being so good that they can slide the weight of their car around tough hills and slalom curves. It’s more fun when like, a third place driver takes big gambles trying to pass around corners, and tears up their tires for a lap or two, to try to overtake first place by taking 60 mph corners at 82 mph and wrestling the car

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

That last comment happens more in NASCAR than other forms of racing lol drafting in NASCAR is only a thing at 3 tracks

there is an incredibly technical side to all racing that’s extremely interesting, so much goes into setups and getting the car right.

my mom LOVED NASCAR growing up. like I very strongly remember my mom crying her eyes out when Dale died. I think I had a lot of Bobby Labonte and Rusty Wallace stuff too

  20. I went to the Indianapolis 500 but for the snake pit and not the race and it's wild you could be at the race in the infield and not even know a race was going on.

Yeah my dad was a huge Rusty Wallace fan. My uncle lived in a trailer park by Watkins Glenn so I got to go to that race a few times and it was fun but I always hated watching the races, they were too long. Dick Trickle is still an all time name though. The other thing I remember is a ton of homophobia around Jeff Gordan who I don’t even think was gay but he drove a rainbow car and wasn’t a total redneck so it sparked a lot of stupid people
