We talking like a legal book at a casino or an illegal book not at a Casino? The latter I would agree with while the former I would not.

They need to crack down on the advertising of it and limit deposits to non-credit card methods. I think they already do some of the last part from what I understand but it should be banned all across the board.

So I know in European soccer they have already had some scandals, the issues with at least with one of more recent larger ones in Italy was it was on betting platforms that were not legal in Italy. If you want to bet on a sport you are involved with there is ways to get around it whether its legal or not.

I had to just stop sports betting altogether after last week. The apps are set up to be addictive, just constant “boosts” and parlays being promoted. Bets all over the screen. I think I’ve lost about $50 over 4 weeks but I’ve realized that even if it goes well it’s just ups and downs and even when you’re up you’ll be convinced to put the money in somewhere and eventually you’ll lose. I can absolutely see someone with an addictive personality constantly taking bets on those screens. That what I mean by it was safer when you had to go through a bookie, there wasn’t the casino-like constant barrage of advertising and opportunity. If you lost you had to sit with it you couldn’t just look at your app and see a thousand other bets to click on.

I also think when you infuse betting with sports like we have now it makes people take the games even more seriously and causes serious mental stress which imo I think people were already taking silly games too seriously but certainly now when you can lose your mortgage payment because a guy kicked a ball good or bad it’s probably not healthy

I think they big thing that needs to stop happening is books advertising/marketing winning parlay tickets from folks. Those are giant lottery tickets that the odds of hitting are so insane but people think they will get one of those big winners. There is also a lack of knowledge of managing your betting units and your bankroll in general. Winning bets 50% of the time is not "normal" but depending on your unit strategy you can still make money. I still don't do a great job of this but I am not going hog wild betting but if you stick to straight bets, you have a better chance of being successful, its just that everything is all about parlays nowadays and that's in the books favor.

Have it legal brings its own set of challenges that the government needs to step in and control but I would rather have that then using random online sites where you may or may not get your money back or having to go through a bookie who may or may not be connected to various criminal elements. Though my guess is some of that is still happening because in the case of bookies they will give you lines of credit and you don't have to claim the taxes but I do wonder how much it going legal has impacted their line of business.

The accessibility of sports betting at your finger tips is going to fuck up entire generations of kids so quickly.

I hate that they’re advertising on pretty much every podcast I listen to. Hearing hosts who I know are against sports betting is kind of depressing because I assume the money has to be pretty decent (or the podcast company told them they had to do it.)

The way they speed through all the legal jargon/rules and regs just tells you that it’s gonna bankrupt you.

I would like to see more "real" data on this but the amount of bets being above $250 per bet is something like 10% to 20% of all bets. Now this is per wager so then it gets into how many wagers are you making per game or per day. I would like the books to be forced to turn up more of this data so we can actually see what is taking place. Seems a lot of this data is based on surveys rather than actual book numbers.

I think they should just stop all advertising for all forms of gambling, whether its sports, casino or even the lottery itself, but then I also think it should be the case for alcohol and legal weed as well. I think allowing vices but not promoting them should be what happens.

When I was a kid my extended family would get each other scratch tickets for Christmas instead of actual presents, and someone would inevitably win $50 and it'd turn into the Hunger Games. Kind of messed up to be pressuring a 10 year old to split his winnings with whomever would take him to the gas station to cash it in.

    Gambling sucks.

I’m convinced that the sports Gods make sure whatever I bet on doesn’t happen because that always seems to be the case.

but in seriousness having sports betting legal is fine but the amount of advertising needs to be regulated because it’s everywhere. And as someone else said same thing with alcohol too. Just pay attention to ads and realize how much of it is for gambling or alcohol and it’s crazy.

I keep my bets very small and never do more than like $5 at a time. It’s wild seeing people making tons of $100+ bets

I love watching sports, but I’ve never had any interest in sports betting. I like to gamble at casinos, but I don’t want to watch games and root for a specific outcome for financial game. Maybe it’s just me, but it takes the fun out of watching for me, doesn’t enhance it at all

I just have no interest in betting or gambling. I don’t know if it's because of how I grew up and always needed to "stretch a dollar" or that I'm just a very risk averse person but I hate the idea of potentially losing money lol (which is also why I've never put money into the stock market). I've been to the casinos in Blackhawk a handful of times and at most I do the penny slots and spend like $50, but usually make it up with the free drinks or getting free buffet vouchers

I love gambling but also am too cautious to ever have it really damage me or get addicted to it. Delaware is finally working on making sports betting online a possibility and I’ll prob do the same thing I did when I could do bodog/bovada back in the day—$1 to $2 parlays on nfl games that are ridiculous and almost definitely won’t hit lol

I’m more into poker when it comes to gambling. And fantasy sports
