Baseball is very stupid but it’s funny seeing Yankees fans mad at the dodgers.

 

yankees fans have nobody to be mad at except their owner who talked so much shit and then when it mattered couldnt pony up another $25m to see if he really did want to be a yankee.

which makes me madder we didn’t target Hopkins given we already weren’t going for receivers in the draft

I think expecting Ridley to be enough, not getting a FA WR, and drafting a fucking blocking TE and a bad backup RB with our second and third round picks was a BAD series of moves by Baalke.

The Ridley move by itself was fine cause it was low risk, and I’m fine with Anton Harrison cause we clearly needed a tackle. But to not stack your offense when you have a talented QB entering his third year is simply a bad move. We didn’t need depth that was hardly gonna be used, we aren’t a Super Bowl team who should be drafting like that yet, we still needed a better starting lineup

that failure to add skill position talent + Doug letting Press run the offense are the two things that stand out to me in terms of our offense struggling this year. Easy to blame Trevor but those are huge factors.

We clearly expected Ridley to solve everything and instantly assume that WR1 role over Kirk, but he’s actually not even better than Kirk. Ridley is not the near-elite WR he was talked up to be and that’s why I tempered my expectations about the signing. He shows flashes but he is definitely a 29 year old, ex first round receiver who HAD skills but lost a lot of his consistency and comfort playing the position by missing two whole years of his prime.

If we coulda had Hopkins WR1, Ridley WR2, Kirk in the slot, THAT would’ve made our offense explosive, and still effective even when Kirk and Zay missed time.

 

i have family that went to Duke so im pretty naturally disposed to rooting for them, but I genuinely do not care at all about college basketball until march. I will root for whoever i pick in my bracket.

 

I’m cackling and genuinely baffled people are this up in arms about this. Especially in a league where you can spend as much as you want lol

People really tried to tell me Hopkins was washed and old and more of a risk than Ridley

but he’s on pace for like 1200 yards / 8 TD this year with goddamn Tannehill, Levis, and Willis throwing him the ball. I always disagreed that one injury and one shorter suspension was worse than Ridley being away from the gridiron entirely for two whole years, at least Hopkins kept honing his skills in practice and two offseasons. Also disagreed that he played like he was washed, dude maybe doesn’t have the same speed he once had but he still made huge possession plays / acrobatic catches that Ridley & Kirk are not capable of in Arizona. And Hopkins had more pre existing talent than Ridley in the first place even when Ridley was good in Atlanta.
