Well people have blindly accused him for being the player to criticize Hurts and the coaching to Derrick Gunn when we’re probably never going to know who did it so I would bet he’s referring to that, or speaking from that place.

Not trying to carry water for him. He’s absolutely done and said some stupid shit before and I’m not absolving him of that, but, if there’s anyone notable on the offense with the least connection to Gunn, it’s Brown.

 

I'm def also biased towards teams that have been there before, and prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt, over say the Jags who still don't really know how to win big games.

I have more faith in the Eagles to figure their shit out.

And for context, Gunn used to work the Eagles locker room a lot, but started spending significantly less time in there last season, which was obviously the first season Brown was with the team for.

Maybe it was Brown who made the comment. Again, we’ll never know, but I have a difficult time believing it was him because he has spent significantly less time with Gunn than most of the offensive players around him and also because…I think Brown does not have a problem being directly open and honest with anyone when he has a problem. He’s done so before

Yeah, the speculation is that Brown was the anonymous player who spoke to Gunn about the offense being predictable and Hurts needing to be more decisive and play better.

I get that it’s easy to point the finger at Brown, but it’s worth noting that DeVonta Smith did an interview in the offseason where he basically said the difference between winning and losing the super bowl was Hurts fumbling the football. It’s also worth noting that Goedert felt the need to comment on the anonymous report by basically saying “Oh, it’s just a frustrated player blowing off some steam after a tough loss, no big deal.”

It could have easily been Smith or Goedert. Maybe it was Quez! We’ll never know, which is why I think it’s weird and a bad look that people just want to assign the blame to Brown. I get why he’s frustrated about people criticizing his character. Donovan McNabb has been doing throughout the season. The comparisons to Terrell Owens have been ongoing.
