Internet saying Brand New played a secret show for 150 people last night in Nashville, no phones, but Jesse played four songs solo and then Brand New minus Vinnie played some songs. So more proof it’s coming.

Seeing The Killers do hot fuss in full has been a dream of mine for a long time, I’d go anywhere for these shows. Hoping for a couple Vegas shows though, that would be sick!

You’d think the other members in the band wouldn’t want to associate with the problematic member or be seen on stage with them, because people (the internet) are going to shame them just as much for supporting that member. Very weird. Why not just start a new band if you want to keep playing music?

 

Not at all surprising, but fucking gross

 

One thing I think we all agree on at this point as if/when they officially reunite people are going to gobble it up, but this is like the second or third private show they have played with industry people and friends and family. Like they aren’t the people to necessarily gage a reaction with.

Heard rumors that When We Were Young tried to give them a blank check to play TDAG and they said “nah”. I could see them being a band again but only ever playing these kinda private events and not actually releasing music or touring.

 

Right, that's obviously the bottom line. And that's just bizarre to me. Maybe Vinnie cares and that's why he wasn't there. Who knows.

 

My guess: money. lots of money.

 

A bigger question I have is what bands are going to agree to tour with BN when they inevitably return

Never under estimate a musician’s want to play music. I know it sounds trite but if you just had to go get a desk job after your singer got cancelled, after a few years I bet you’d be itching to go get the validation of thousands of people a night loving the music you wrote.

 

Vinne lives in California now, so maybe travel wasn’t worth it for him. Or idk. I know nothing

I’m sure there’s quite a few bands that didn’t bat an eyelash over the Jesse stuff

 

I could believe some festivals reaching out to them, but beyond that I think all they would need to do is book their own tour and it would sell quite well.

 

Johnny Craig just played a 500 cap venue in Nashville not long ago, Brand New would sell out IMMEDIATELY

 

Considering the “report” of this is from a single Reddit post without any evidence, I would take it with the worlds largest grain of salt.
