I never know whether to trust Amazon vinyl pre-orders. They seem to be very hit or miss.

 

I like em for the convenience of cancelling them if I find a better variant I like and/or for the “Free” AutoRip MP3’s most of them come with.

It's definitely a good quality set. From the gatefold, to the variants. Teenage Dream dominated back in 2010/2011 it definitely brings me back. I never really listened to Prism but that's lined up next.

 

update on this: cleaned Bowie but it was beyond repair. Super noisy and unlistenable. Decent copies go for 40 minimum and this was 15 so I figured I’d gamble but sometimes you lose. Such is the vinyl life.

 

Saw someone recently say Teenage Dream is one of the best pop songs of the 2010s, and yeah, I think I might agree

 

I will say I haven't listened to the album as a whole since it came out. But damn is it a good album. It also sounds amazing on vinyl!

 

Confirmed amazing on vinyl. Great singles that are timeless, some really underrated deep cuts, and a total clunker of a song about a penis!

i feel good that i haven't purchased anything for myself since RSD Black Friday. my only remaining pre-order is the Paramore repress, and any other purchases/additions have been early Christmas gifts for/from other people.

I only have 6 preorders and maybe 10 I recently bought and are in various stages of getting shipped out.

 

Mail came today. Records shaped. I made a crack that I knew what that looked like to Hannah thinking it was a Xmas gift from her. She then saw it was addressed to me and got mad saying I promised not to order any more records until after gifts to make sure I didn’t order anything she bought.

I haven't really dabbled much in the whole "emo revival" over the last ten years or so, but Counter Intuitive just dropped a 10th anniversary repress of the highly underrated Grandview "Everything between Paint and a Wall".

Definitely prioritizing smaller releases these days, no rush to buy anything from “big” bands as they just seem to always be readily available.

 

Finally getting around to listening to (and spinning for the first time) WEATHERVANES by Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit. Love the hype sticker statement too!

 

This album is incredible, sad I wasted most of 2023 to finally listen to it!
