Also to follow up on this, people regularly experience ankle sprains (the ATFL is the most commonly injured ligament in the human body), and the majority of people never have surgery on it. Granted it’s a different joint but just as point, it is entirely possible to rehab a knee without an ACL.

And the good thing is, you can always have the surgery later if it continues to be issue. ACL surgery almost always involves a reconstruction process, so the torn tissue isn’t used. It’s either from a cadaver or tendon from the person’s own body. In most pro athletes, it’ll likely be from the patellar tendon.
