Feel like a full on Currents / SOI co-headliner would be a lot on Chris (guitar player for both Currents and Shadow). So it makes sense it's only one date.

$70 lawn tickets for RHCP today…anything in the pavilion is at minimum $189 and go up to $640.

Sooooo glad I got to see these bands 5yrs ago when prices were legit half.

  9. why did concert prices get so insane? feels like it came out of nowhere. it's like ticketmaster and livenation thinks the entire country got an extra digit added to their total income or something.

Because the shows sell out regardless. They know people can’t afford it but they don’t care, that’s why you can split your ticket into 4 payments now lol

Increased labor fees/inflation probably also factor into it. Also everyone's fees are higher and promoters/bands saw that amount of $ being left on the table after monitoring resale prices for a decade.

It doesn’t help that everyone is following the Taylor Swift effect and jacking up the prices on resale for sold out shows with lots of demand so shows are even more expensive if you don’t jump on buying tickets right away.

It is crazy how expensive tickets have gotten. I feel like I could get decent seats at most arena/shed shows for like $50-80 but now it's like $110-130 just to enter the building.

Its definitely a split between club and arena. Most 250-3000 cap clubs, despite going up obviously with inflation, are still reasonable to me and that's most of what I go to. $25-$45 with fees is the norm in that space.

I remember reading an article like 10 years ago and it talked about how the most effective way to combat scalping is to increase the face value of tickets....the theory holds some weight however the second hand pricing has gotten out of control

Id almost rather go back to the old way of tickets being more affordable and more tickets being scalped for higher prices.

If I lucked out during an on sale and could score a lower level arena show ticket for $150 I was happy. Now the tickets don’t move as quickly so I can grab them but the problem is, they’re already priced out of my budget.

As someone said before, the ticket prices go up because people continue to buy them regardless of how expensive they are. Ticketmaster sees this and knows that they can charge astronomical prices and people, like lemmings, will buy them even with them being double or three times the price.

What would be even more baller is if she just didn’t book anymore shows. Just be like “shit sold out. Sorry”

Didn't Sea of Treachery reunite and then scam a bunch of fans out of money for merch that they just never printed or shipped?
