Title track is probably my favourite song on here on first listen.

There hasn't been quite as much stuff that I've loved or liked a lot this year as there was last year, but the battle for my top 5 is definitely fiercer. I probably don't even have any idea what my list looks like beyond the top 2.

There are a lot of songs on this album that I hear being featured in TV shows/movies just like songs from BA and Futures. I think thats cool.

I dunno if you'd told me that this year I'd be getting new music from Jimmy Eat World, Third Eye Blind, Bon Iver, Say Anything, Owen, The Hotelier and Frightened Rabbit, my mind would've exploded

Yeah, this is where I'm the opposite. I think most years when you get past 30 on my EOTY list it gets hard for me to even pick albums I like a lot whereas this year I could probably pick a fair amount more than that but my top 5 is pretty much the only 5 albums I love this year and even then they're a fair amount weaker in comparison to pretty much any year I can remember.

Say Anything and Frightened Rabbit were both so disappointing.

In context yeah they were, but I was still excited to get new music from them and reasonably happy with some of the output. Honestly I was more deflated by FR, they seem in a rut.

As I said in another thread pretty much I have a hard time cutting down to 50 albums I love every year. So much music I love is always coming out, regardless of year. It's great.

  12. i really liked the SA album the first few listens through. i haven't gone back to it since the day it leaked, but i've been meaning to check it out again to see if i still like it.

That's kind of what I mean, there's been so much music out this year that looking at a list of it seems way more impressive to me than the actual music, ha. There's been very few albums that weren't kind of disappointing compared to past material for me.

I love my top 5 or 10 as much as just about any other year, but probably won't be quite as ecstatic about the 20-30 range as I was last year. It's been a different kind of year. I've had more disappointments and fewer discoveries than last year, but I've also had some of my favorite artists ever exceeding my every expectation and releasing their best music in years. So overall, I'd say this has been a good year. 2015 was an all-timer for me, though. I don't think I'll look back on this year quite as fondly.

It's probably the most I've ever disliked something by an artist I'm a fan of. I never thought someone would beat Eminem or The Used for that title but Max Bemis did it.

This is always the best thing you can hope for imo and for me it just hasn't happened. The 1975 is the closest thing to that for me and even then it's probably my least favourite AOTY since 2001.

  17. SpyKid bumming everyone else when we have the best Jimmy Eat World album in 10 years to listen to.

"Through" is so good, super catchy and perfectly placed. It's a great final breather of sorts before the double whammy finale of the title track and "Pol Roger".

Quite frankly 365 days is such an arbitrary time frame to judge music in. Good music doesn't take a break, it's always coming out.

Haha, the way Jim sings the verses remind me a little of a traditional Celtic tune. Or maybe I'm only hearing things that I hear haha
