Its just funny because randall has fully admitted to being the example of a biker literally everyone here has been rallying against while he is trying to champion for them. Whatever. I have some errands to run, and if i see someone on a bike im running them off the road.

I think the point you might be missing, and I'm not trying to speak for anyone else here and I'm deliriously tired, is this can be taken as feeding into the narrative that bikers don't obey laws on the road in general. Obviously we all know how frustrating it is when drivers aren't safe around bikers the same is true in reverse, and no matter how much you think you're positive no one is coming, the chance of something happening isn't zero. And that can be very frustrating to read when you also have an issue with drivers not being courteous to bikers, or whatever it is that you were saying I'm trying to use context clues I'm not going back and reading all that.

Feel like one of the first things I was taught in driver’s ed is “you should drive like it’s everyone else’s first day driving”

I've never heard anyone say this. What highways were you on?

I-35 or i-20 and peak rush hour? Might as well be playing a fucking video game the way these people drive. Not to mention someone is always getting shot from road rage

Florida did not have a drivers ed requirement when I was in high school and the hardest part of the test was a 3 point turn. Nobody who has driven in Florida is surprised by this

My only real bad encounter with a biker was about 10 years ago when I was driving up a windy mountain road and there was a biker in the middle of the car lane so I passed them on the left with PLENTY of room to spare and as I passed them the dude was screaming bloody murder and flipping me off like I was an inch away from them. I continued up the windy, uphill road another 10 minutes or so, and when I got out of my car the biker WAS RIGHT THERE yelling at me some more and I was flabbergasted that this dude somehow kept up with me the entire time?? What kind of bionic man was this

I have also said for a very long time that we should all have to be retested relatively frequently

Once you hit 65-70 ish you should have to be retested every few years and once you’re like 80 retested every single year

Wasn't rush hour but it was 35 south from Denton then 635 to 20. It wasn't fun by any means but it was better than Houstons bumper to bumper at 80mph and Austin's "whoops I guess two and a half million people live here now, hope you don't mind two lane roads RIP"

635 isn't too bad but yeah those roads during rush hour are a gamble on everyone's life

    But so I
I just think bikes are different from cars just like weed is different from alcohol.

You can’t approach the discussions the same way without blatantly ignoring context. A car crossing a red light is a little different because they have less visibility, they can’t creep forward enough to see past parked cars and several blocks down the crossing road like a bike can.

I never said bikes shouldn’t stop at red lights and look both ways, my argument is we should always stop and assess the situation, but after coming to that complete stop bikes definitely have a lot more maneuverability and visibility than a car does and have the ability to behave like pedestrians

Oh I'm sure. I try and avoid rush hour anywhere at all costs lol.
