I hope I’m wrong but which of the two are you leaving out? Georgia falls to 5 from 1 or Bama doesn’t get in winning the SEC?

yes you have to judge 100% of the season including the game where the two teams actually played each other

not to mention the committee consistently since their first ranking placing texas above alabama every time. they clearly prefer one team to the other lol.

So if Michigan loses to Iowa, Iowa is the better team? lmao.
It's not half baked logic. I'm saying ALL THE GAMES matter. Not just one game.

all the games matter except for the one i'm conveniently ignoring to try to make an argument that isn't based in reality :)

I agree that all games matter, but if records are identical and all that’s left is head to head, that is the only game that matters. It’s exactly the situation Washington/Oregon were in heading into last night and it’s exactly the situation Texas/Bama and Bama/Georgia are in now.

I don’t think a single person in this thread thinks 12 games don’t matter. But in very specific instances, tiebreakers go to the winner on the field.

You guys think if fsu wins they are putting no SEC teams in? LOL

it comes down to Texas vs Bama for the 4 seed and the messaging they send with who they choose

yes because they would have four conference winners that are undefeated with good wins or a win over the team left on the outside looking in. i promise you that you are overthinking this

And the messaging of that the games on the field don't matter is a wild, wild thing to make. It would be completely different if there was no head to head to compare on this.

what is happening lol. if fsu wins, they are in and not involved in the argument of missing it at all. it would come down to texas. be serious.

Thinking is good actually. Florida State is not a top four team.

I do wonder if this being the last time for the four team playoff makes that decision of leaving the SEC out easier than other years. This won't ever happen again.

there wouldn’t be 4 undefeated teams would there?
It would be Michigan, Washington, FSU and then a choice between the SEC champion, defending champion and number 1 team all season, and the big 12 champ. Maybe they will choose Texas and say “hey they are SEC next year?” Lol

i do not disagree fsu isn't one of the four best teams considering they play down to their competition every week but it has never been "best" teams in the 9 years of doing this lol. it's "most deserving" in their amorphous and dumb definition of that. an undefeated ACC champ is not going to get left out. you're out of your mind.

Iowa has two losses and was blown out 31-0 by a Penn State team that itself got blown out by Michigan and Ohio State. So there is clearly still the argument for Michigan being the better team even if Iowa somehow wins one game (spoiler they won't)

Can't really say the same thing about Bama vs Texas.

i'm not saying they will i'm saying they SHOULD.

The winner of the ACC has historically been considered not the best of the conference champs, but the ACC is the only conference to win a natty outside of the SEC with one exception since 2006.

can you read? the post you directly quoted specifically says undeafeated teams or a team win a win over the team outside looking in. meaning texas lol. the other three teams have not lost a game.

You can say Texas struggled against Wyoming, Houston, Kansas State, TCU, and Iowa State though.
