Adjacent was so much fun. If it wasn’t MDW it would instantly be one of my favorite fests I’ve ever been too

 

It makes me so happy that the general consensus amongst the most intense/passionate music fans (us, our friends) is that this was one of the best fests put together, I've wondered if I'm viewing it with rose-colored glasses but clearly I'm not. Which really fucking sucks if it doesn't come back

 

yea I think most people would agree albeit a few things they should change, they were small. Different merch set up, stage a little higher and a little louder, and different weekend.

 

I had a great time at this, virtually no complaints. Really had my heart set on it coming back

 

Using the validation of there being no Philly show on the FOB tour assuming they'd headline Adjacent... Hot Mulligan just got added to AC Beer & Music Fest a week after the FOB tour ends (4/12). That seems like another bad sign for Adjacent's return

 

Sadly, I don’t think there’s any way this is coming back at this point. I’ve given up hope

 

Selfishly I'm kind of glad it's not because I really should be saving money but I'd reallyyyy want to go again. (Kidding though I do wish it was returning it was too good not to)

 

Seems like a huge lost opportunity for them, which makes me wonder what’s really causing the issues or lack of planning this year. It could be something with the city itself. I just realistically can’t think of a reason they wouldn’t want to capitalize on another year of this festival which was apparently very fun and did quite well.

 

I just get the sense the demand was not there for the level of artist they had. You can't be paying a Blink or a Paramore and only draw 20-25k a day.

 

Clearly Adjacent was only done to clown Bamboozle into hiding

 

I was at The Maine in Philadelphia last night and a security guard said they were just contracted for Adjacent recently

The girl next to me asked him about it and he told her, his higher ups wouldn't give him dates which he was upset about because he wanted to schedule his vacation. All he knows is the security company booked 3 big events in Philly/ NJ and that Adjacent was one of them. Now he could be full of shit, but I figured it was worth sharing at least.

Would be a pretty weird thing to randomly lie about. Hope this is somehow still coming back

 

At the very least, I'd imagine the person thought they were telling the truth when they said it. I take it all with a grain of salt when its all via Internet but when somebody says "I was standing there face-to-face with this person and they said X"... I tend to believe it's, at the very least, well intentioned.

But sometimes people overhear or misunderstand things, or they hear the correct thing and it just winds up changing. That happens more than people bald faced lying to strangers IRL, I think.

Curious to see what else we hear!

 

Yea they certainly could have been contracted for another one, but whether it happens is different story. But yea hope it comes to fruition.

 

Adjacent locking in their security for the festival before they've even confirmed they're moving forward.....Hey remember when Bamboozle was trying to hire freelance security a week before their fest?

 

did anything ever come of any lawsuits being filed against that bozo?

 

Feels like we can safely say this isn’t happening

 

I'm choosing to believe that they're just moving this to mid September, and thus they won't be announcing a lineup until April.

Sea Hear Now is around that time and has proven to be successful. Plus with Riot Fest a week later it could make sense for similar artists' tour routings.
