i'd take Delaware beaches over NJ beaches and even long island beaches. long island beaches are overcrowded as fuck and are eroding at a near mach speed. I've never been to NC or their beaches so I can't speak to that. Delaware is very real and nice and Dave is, once again, providing a bad take.

That's always what i've heard about it, that you're basically far away from everything and thus there isn't much to do there but beach. Which isn't bad! I just like having a town to go out in, get dinner in, etc. Especially if it's walkable.

 

My wife is a Jones Beach truther and I think even she has converted to "Dewey is better/nicer than Jones" lol.

I've been to Jones in the summer once with her and it was awful. No idea how people do that.

 

I do not like beaches where they funnel you into a little section of beach because they don't allow you to swim outside of certain areas. Let me swim where I want. If I drown it's my own fault!

 

Jones Beach is a truly miserable experience. Gilgo Beach is nice as long as you're not getting your body dumped there and some local town beaches are also really nice but those arent ocean beaches theyre bay beaches.

as a former lifeguard of many, many, many years - it is far worse for supervision to have 100% of the people in a confined area. let em spread out, just let it be known what areas are being actively monitored and what areas are swim at your own risk. stop gatekeeping the literal ocean!!!!!!

east coast boardwalks are all the same. its just bad souvenir shops and corn dogs. i stand with spiffa on boardwalk slander.

 

santa monica pier is nice but its like a quasi amusement park so its not really in the same ballpark as like, the wildwood or atlantic city boardwalk
