I was so pissed you had me right away. I really tried to change how I type. Was fired up when grant turned you. Felt bad when it seemed to actually be annoying people.

 

People (not necessarily y’all, just in general) should understand that there’s actually several different and legitimate approaches to tacos and burritos. Latin America is like 30 different countries (and not all of them even eat tacos, meanwhile burritos are a California thing so pretty much every burrito is an American mash up).

And especially in America, important distinction: Tex Mex IS NOT Mexican, they are literally entirely different cuisines. Tex Mex takes INFLUENCE from Mexican food but everything is entirely different customs and flavors, even down to how the fajitas are grilled and how the queso is prepared.

So like, “whitest whites” Americans who want yellow cheese and no onions on their tacos, yes they need to explore more cultures. But also the liberal-performative “I’m not eating a single taco unless it’s with cilantro, lime and onions” is lame too cause Tex Mex is also damn good in its own right, and was invented as a different thing by Mexican immigrants. Its not just a cheap imitation (if it’s done right, I’m not talking about Chevy’s restaurant lol)
