I saw that one of the Panthers players said the initial playcall on their last 4th down would have worked better but was changed to that screen

If Reich changed it that certainly seems like he's trying to self-sabotage and get canned lol

Yeah I don't know if Young is "bad" and it is fairly challenging to use this team, offense, skill players, and scheme to make that ultimate decision after like 10 games ... it's just easy to react when Stroud is doing what he's doing.

They're almost better off sitting Young rest of season haha

My favorite part is Frank Reich wanting Stroud, getting a less ready QB, and then having to watch the guy he wanted absolute kill it for another team...and know that even if he stuck around a few years, it wasnt gonna turn around

Why does everyone say Frank wanted CJ as if it’s a fact? I don’t think it’s ever actually been reported. It’s so weird.

 

That Panthers job might be a worse job opening than the Texans job opening was last year...which, its a miracle that Houston got anyone competent.

But Carolina traded a stud WR and what is almost certainly a top 3, if not the top pick to another team...then picked the wrong QB, fired their coach after 11 games. Who willingly comes in to clean that all up without demanding huge money and a 5+ year contract?

yeah i mean, it couldnt be more obvious Reich didnt want BY, even if he never vocally expressed it.

 

The Panthers are the Bengals of the late 90's and Bryce Young is Akili Smith.

 

The storyline started the second we traded for the pick though. Like immediately everyone said “oh CJ is perfect for Reich that’ll be the pick”. And everyone just ran with it.

 

It could be true that he wanted CJ. But the dialogue around that feels speculative.

 

I think the best evidence is who he has worked with

 

I mean, its kinda weird when a coach who likes big QBs goes out and drafts a 5'10" dude...it'd be like the Steelers deciding to draft an FCS guy in the 1st round when they only ever draft blue-chippers from a list of like 6 schools there. And then if Tomlin in Week 6 said "well, the owner was hands on in that move"...we'd know what that meant.

The Panthers can turn things around, it may be two years before things look better but its absolutely plausible

It’s the same as when Rhule was here. Everyone blamed him for all the bad moves. Said Rhule was calling all the shots. But whenever we made a move the fans liked we photoshopped laser eyes on Fitterer’s face and praised him. Now Rhule is gone. And everyone wants to blame Tepper for the bad moves. Why does the GM to escape all of the blame??

I’ve said it here before, the chaos 100% correlates to when we hired Fitterer. He isn’t alone. Tepper is horrible too. But my overall point is, we don’t know who is making the decisions. But it seems like we like to decide who to blame as we go.
