I saw that. I love Knuckle Puck (and Dan Lambton) but I think they're overreacting.

Definitely overreacting and making themselves seem insanely childish

The whole thing to me is ironic considering the band in question has rips / parodies of Playstation, Waffle House, and Easy A on their merch

And Knuckle Puck said if they were asked to stop making them, they would remove them. They asked Jarrod to stop and he refused. Plus, Jarrod's a terrible person in general so why would you want your name/brand associated with him...

The whole Kanookla Pook joke was painfully unfunny when it came out years ago and it's painfully unfunny now

So the Sayreville show was absolutely awesome. VIP was definitely worth it IMO. I was actually addressed by Soupy to pick out a song from the hat during their VIP sound check (turned out to be Lord's Prayers). In addition, my wife was directly next to Soupy during the VIP group photo. It was a great experience. And they were phenomenal live.

Does anyone know where they are posting the VIP photos? I've only seen maybe one on TWY Twitter.

I'd be a little more sympathetic to Jarrod's situation if the joke was the least bit funny. I think what KP's more upset about is that it looks like they associate with his channel/comedy when in reality they just don't want anything to do with it.

Exactly. This isn't about the band "needing to take a joke," it's about them protecting their brand. It's a totally understandable and justified position to take.

Did Jarrod's video not parody like twenty band's names? It seems like KP are the only ones who made it a big deal about it. Maybe I'm missing something but I feel like they're doing the opposite of insulating their brand by making t-shirts, bitching about it and creating a "situation" from nothing. Ignore it and it will go away.

    Things have changed.

Seems to be the first one he's made a shirt of. Is it protected under parody law? Yes. But if he's such a big fan of the band, as he claims, he should probably quit being an asshole and take it down after they've objected to it.

It's not much about the parody itself, but the fact that they don't want their name to be associated with Jarrod at all, and don't want someone they don't like making money off their name. They asked him to take it down because they don't like him and don't want anything to do with that but he refused, rather than compromising, which is disrespectful and just wrong of him.

Look at it this way: When someone like Queen or Bruce Springsteen objects to Republican political candidates using their songs at rallies, do people say those artists are "making a big deal about it" or "bitching about it and creating a 'situation' from nothing?"

    No. The answer is no.

And, as has already been said above, he's never made a shirt about any other band before, and the band just does not want their name associated with him. That is their right because it's their name. And all they did was ask him to take it down. He said no, like a jerk (although it is his right to say no because of parody law and all that), and that's that. They haven't brought any legal action against him (yet) or anything like that. They just want to protect their brand.

Honestly, the people acting like it's such a huge scandal that they asked him to take it down are the real one's making a big deal out of nothing.

Goddamn do I love Nathan. But even in that situation, Starbucks did not (and could not) sue him. So they (probably) called the Department of Health on him instead (if you watch that episode of Nathan For You, the Health Department people come by after receiving an "anonymous tip" or something). But they did ask him to cease and desist first. Which is what Knuckle Puck did here.

To me it sounds like there's some underlying beef between the two parties. Knuckle Puck clearly don't like the guy and were calling him out for some of his other actions. It seems like they have a very justified reasoning for not backing him and wanting to disassociate with the types of people that latch onto Jarrod Along videos (16 year olds).

I don't think they're trying to disassociate with 16 year olds as much as they are trying to distance themselves from a person that is literally a walking parody.

Am I missing something? I've never heard anything bad about Jarrod before. Not being a fan of his stuff is one thing but has he actually done something I don't know about? KP is absolutely within their rights to ask for it to be taken down and if Jarrod had some class he would comply but that's besides the point.

He says lots of problematic things and supports other problematic bands. He starts dumb fights on twitter and always looks like an idiot.

Yeah I don't know. With everything else going on in the scene at this point, I just don't really care about this "issue." While disappointing, Jarrod isn't illegally using their name. Like I said, probably just makes the most sense for Knuckle Puck to forget about it and move on. This guy's 15 minutes of fame is pretty much up anyone, let's not extend it.

It's not just Trump that has gotten heat from artists for this kind of thing. But that's besides the point. I'm not in any way insinuating that Alonge is on that level, I'm saying that it's the same idea when it comes to artists objecting to people using their work.

And again, nothing wrong with Knuckle Puck's reaction to this in any way whatsoever.
