I will be okay. everything Supporter

It's so far off from anything they've done before, so that's why I was kinda ehhhh on it.

"They won't shoot you pass the baby here," yeah. I have no idea what that could mean hahah. I assumed it was some sort of reference to the music industry, with him singing about taking the stage and this industry and whatnot. No clue tho, tbh, we could both be way off ha

I do wish they hadn't dumped four songs on us before this album released, but plenty of blame can be placed on my lack of willpower. Mentally blending those four songs into the album might take some time now, but Get Right seems to be the biggest beneficiary. It sounds so much better in the context of the sequencing. I was "meh" about it when I first heard it in August.

Could not be more excited for this album based on all your posts. One more day...

But wouldn't the act of uploading it to the internet qualify as "leaking" the album if it's a day before release? I agree that it's more of a soft leak, but whatever.

Hey now. Look at you. Way cool.

Leak usually means that something finds its way through the cracks of a system that is supposed to be locked down. Like it getting out from people who have advanced access or are involved in production... ie. the people who have been made to agree that they will keep it locked down. I don't feel like a person getting their CD in the post from a preorder would be considered part of that "locked down" system. It's just normal commercial access.

I mean, if you call it a leak when an album ends up online after release. I think something only qualifies as a "leak" when the music is supposed to be "confidential" in a sense. If someone gets an advance and uploads it, that's a leak because it was meant for their ears only. If someone gets the official release that they bought through preorder and uploads it, they're still breaking the law, but it's not really confidential anymore because the official release is out there in the world. So it's not really a leak.

There's potential for a good song in The End Is Beautiful but I can't get past his vocal inflection on "anymore". Really sucks that I'm letting that bother me so much.

I get that. I guess I was just hung up on the semantics of "leak." If the album surfaces before release date, I just think something to the effect of "Well, it leaked out," because it hasn't released yet. I'll lean towards your interpretation though. Good point.

  9. Same. Still waiting to hopefully go buy a copy tomorrow, though.

I derailed the conversation in the worst way. Sorry guys.

  11. Just finished my first listen. I'm not one for crying in public but the title track almost set me off. Pol Roger is a fantastic closer. God, this album is so fucking good.

I think I'm most excited to hear the title track, from what others have said about it.

The idea of a "leak" is definitely complicated somewhat by streaming--both pre-release streams and streaming services. Like, has something leaked if there's a pre-release stream and someone rips it?

Not at all. There are pages upon pages of conversation about a band-who-shall-not-be-named that we can't take back now.

I have a very similar spin on this in my review. Sort of the toxic fetishizing of young female bodies.

And that's why you always leave a note.

Found out my pre-order vinyl won't be here until late next week. Damn, media mail.
Remember the good 'ol days when pre-orders would show up a day or two early?

I never understand where people even find these 'leaks'. Everytime an album leaks I try to find it and I can't. Really wanted to listen to this just now since I don't have a preorder coming or anything. Was going to buy it off itunes but would rather listen to it all first if the option was there

JEW releasing a song in 2016, that sounds like Hear You Me pt.2, in which the chorus is "It doesn't have to hurt anymore" is like.....them embracing their emo label so hard.
