Is there a new video out today?

 

All I'm saying is considering music videos are irrelevant is akin to say music, literature, film, performance and so on are irrelevant.

People have ingrained this idea that music videos are no more than an instrument to sell the music and now that they are not as prevalent in that sense, many disregard them. I think clips have intrinsic value.

 

Beyoncé, Radiohead, Kendrick Lamar, and Kanye are all doing artful, interesting things in music videos the last couple years. Granted blink isn't and has never really been close to their artistic level, but that's not an excuse for boring videos. Even Taylor Swift is usually at least fun in her videos, if not super crazy.

 

Where are people seeing this video?

Yeah probably. I'm in Canada too and I don't see it anywhere on Spotify.

they have a new "show." this is the first "episode." and apparently it's mobile-only.

 

Another weird thing is that they totally went back and recorded the perfomance parts that are intercut in the first edit of the video way after the actual spotify performances. Matt's hair is clearly blonde under his hat for those. If they were going to bother doing even that much why not put the guys in the actual video? Even have them come in and reclaim their positions from the girls in the remake and do a whole record scratch thing when Matt comes in and have the girl ask "wait....who are you?" That would have at least been a bit funny.

 

Tried to not be disappointed.

I'm disappointed.

Hurry up with the deluxe version because we are going downhill at the moment.

I'm all for a funny video. Just, you know, something fresh instead.

just watch the "what's my age again" video, and you'll enjoy it.

 

In a while people will inevitably say the disappointment is an over reaction but they really shot themselves in the foot with fans with asuch a huge gap between singles only to release something so lackluster in such a weird way. Maybe they're waiting for the deluxe edition to throw whatever real money and effort they have left into the album promo.

 

Gotcha. It's too bad they couldn't do a better music video but whatever.

 

this new video reminds me of all the youtube videos of people copying the WMAA one. it just looks like a sad parody and not a funny parody.

 

The single thing is absolutely weird. I don't understand that one at all and would love to hear the reasoning behind it. Especially when they were on such a massive tour and only played SOOHM what once or twice on the actual set and it was at the end of the tour. I'm not one to really complain about set lists but to play songs like Kings of the Weekend 90% of the time or Los Angeles at every show yet not play a song that was going to be the 2nd single is strange.

 

This never would have happened if Tom were still in the band!

 

I will say Adam Devine's portrayal of the nurse was the considerable highlight

 

but we also would have gotten another AVA-styled Blink album. a double edged sword...

I enjoyed California. I enjoyed Neighborhoods. I dunno which I like more, but I like both aspects.

I was stuck waiting/hoping for a SelfTitled pt. 2 when they got back together. I quickly realized that blink in that era will probably never get touched again. It Was hard to come to terms with.

 

I was actually going for the whole "we wouldn't have even gotten another album or tour" joke but yeah that works too.

 

In all likelihood we still wouldn't have anything at all from blink if Tom was still in the band.
