yeah its just not a fun place to be anymore post-pandemic, its SO expensive and crime IS up in the city regardless of what the libs want you to think, i mostly go to brooklyn/prospect park where my SIL lives.

 

NYC mayor should round up all the homeless people and bring them to Long Island.

Really selling me on the city

 

Ironically that's the stance people in long island have

 

the best parts of manhattan are the lower villages (below union square and above world trade center) and the upper west side by the history museum. the places that are in the city but do not feel like the city. much more neighborhood-y.

 

SF is largely OK. It does have sketchy areas and some areas have that unpleasant big city smell, but I've never felt unsafe even late at night when getting back to the train from a concert.

 

Same with Atlanta

 

What about Queens

 

Murph goes to Brooklyn but never when I'm there

 

I've seen a few videos on the homeless situation there. Man, it's so sad.

 

queens is great. Astoria, Sunnyside, and Long Island City are real nice. There are some less than ideal areas of queens for sure but, over the last 5-10 years a lot of Queens got gentrified because people just didnt want to live in Manhattan anymore/couldnt afford to.

 

Yeah, it's definitely one of the biggest issues the city has to tackle.

was very close to moving to astoria in 2021 (wife is greek) and i'm sad it never panned out. however, i'm a maniac and look at rentals every day there and there is absolutely no shot we would have made it for very long financially lol
