Were VIP tickets widely available on resale this year?

Was definitely wondering that too, my guess is that he could get the Devil lineup back for it

 

Pretty sure they were near $1000 a week before and never really widely available/for face. On stubhub etc anyway

They shipped physical wristbands so probably limited the resale atmosphere, unsure how it was on Facebook etc for resales but doubt there was a huge amount

 

I'd be interested in the Mayday Parade set if they got Jason back.

I was fortunate enough to go to the 2010 tour with both MP and Go Radio. Jason performed Miserable At Best with the group. 13 years on I still remember it well.

 

Supporting the person here who suggested Hey Monday or We Are The In Crowd.

Both define the 2008 - 2010 scene pretty well. Disappointed to not see them in the lineup.

 

How is the monorail? Particularly post show… does it run that late?

 

After having a great time this year, very disappointed with this years lineup!

 

Would've been cool to see Finch doing SHTS for this

 

There's 53 bands on the lineup this year, the same as last year, so I'd expect similar set times/structure, even despite the album plays.

 

Maybe that extra stage they removed this year will make a comeback

 

The math isn’t mathing

TWY TGG is close to a 40-50 minute album I believe. There can’t be anyway every band gets their full album slot unless more stages are added.

Using a figure of 35 minutes per album and 4 stages, it’s 8 hours without any breaks/disruptions. Very few are less than 35 and most are more.

When I saw the initial lineup I was excited but after parsing through it I realized there’s only 6 or so albums that I’d really want to hear every song.

 

Would be stoked on it to hear The Upsides or Suburbia in full, but I’ll take TGG

 

i'm gonna go out on a limb and say that not every album will be played in its entirety. looking at past set times, most of the undercard gets 30 minutes, so with the same amount of bands this year, I can't imagine there will be much change there. while we haven't seen "celebrating" thrown around (yet), the official language from the fest is "playing the albums + more" which yes, "playing the albums" quite literally implies the entire albums, but I can also see that as just a simplified, all-encompassing marketing phrase.

 

If they bring back the tent stage, which it appears that Sick New World is, they’ll be fine time wise.
Also, the reaction to this lineup outside of places like this is kinda funny to me. There’s a few threads on the subreddit about people being mad at the concept cause they’ll hear filler songs that they don’t know and they only want the hits. Too many people cosplaying something they never were

 

That Coheed album is 71 minutes long, haha. They really gonna let them do that?

 

Curious, how much was it? I've considered this, but I saw year one when the first day got cancelled and tickets skyrocketed because all the day 1 people were trying to get day 2 tickets. But I forgot to check what the prices looked like a couple days before.

Every album will be played in its entirety aside from maybe skipping interludes. They cannot claim the band is playing the album without having them play the entire album. Every song on there is a favorite to someone, and they'll piss people off if they cherry pick. The last thing you want to do to a fanbase especially if you're telling them you're playing the album.

Agreed on the math not making sense unless another stage is added.

 

I bought the day 1 ticket for like 200 I think. Day of could have gotten it cheaper but wanted to ensure I had one.

 

2022 day 2 resell tickets were like 100-150 before day 1 was cancelled. Can’t speak for 2023

 

2022 I got day 1 for 160 a week out. Day 2 i bought when I booked my trip from someone on here trying to get rid of their ticket, that was face I believe. 2023 day 1 was 190 a week out.

Like I don’t want to gatekeep being a “fan”, but at some point you have to actually like the music a band creates. For me there’s a difference between enjoying a couple of songs that pop up on the radio, and actually calling myself a fan of a certain band. Festivals want to appeal to the broadest amount of people which is why a lot are going to be annoyed of not getting the greatest hits setlist, but as someone who only listens to albums and doesn’t stream music I find the biggest treat is an album play so I can finally hear the rest of the songs I actually listen to. Seeing people refer to non-singles on an album as “filler” just baffles me. I don’t like festival environments, I’d rather see a regular club tour, but WWWY might get me there this year because it’s actually offering something *different* and more specific
