Yep, I think thats partially CJ though, he and Tank are like best friends off the field

Clearly CJ works alot with his receivers on where they like the ball placed (as most good QBs do) (this isnt to say Bryce isnt doing that, just the point CJ is putting in that extra work)

 

This is true. And CJ has made those around him better. But those guys are still performing well and making plays on their own. It’s not as simple as good QB, good team. You’d like to see more from Bryce, for sure. But it’s very hard for any QB, let alone a rookie, to be successful in this offense. CJ would probably look better in it. But it still wouldn’t be as good as the Texans offense looks right now.

 

I do though accept that the OC can absolutely hinder a rookie QB

They need to find Bryce the right OC

 

Bryce isn’t good enough to carry a shit team. And that’s probably a sign he wasn’t worth the ammo we used to move up for him. But I still feel bad for him. Because it’s an unfair situation for him.

 

i would say at this point that mingo and to a lesser extent marshall jr. are “hits,” they’re just being asked to have much bigger roles than they should have

 

i feel bad for bryce but bc he has an unreasonable amount of pressure on him to succeed as the first pick, which he never should have been. he simply isn’t good. it is on the roster and it is on the coaching but he also is not that guy. i don’t think he would be that guy on philly or san fran either.

 

I disagree there. TMJ is in year 3 now. He was a fairly high pick. And he still offers nothing.

 

Its too early to be out on Bryce

Trevor had an awful rookie season with an awful supporting cast and awful coaching

 

he isn’t a first or second option, sure, but he’s a serviceable and fine receiver

 

Like he’s not playing great right now but he’s a rookie, give him a break haha

Terrace Marshall blows. Maybe he’ll pop somewhere else, but he sure as hell isn’t going to in Carolina

Yeah but a bad supporting cast even dragged down TREVOR after he was easily the best college and high school QB of his era

so have some faith in Bryce, a bad supporting cast can make almost anyone look bad

 

i think bryce can look BETTER than he looks now but i don’t really think he’s ever going to look GOOD. the team has done him no favors but his flaws still boil down to one factor.

 

I also think we exaggerate the whole QBs makes everyone better. Receivers and OL also make a QB better. And there’s proof all around the league. A lot of the top QBs now had rough rookie seasons and then got a top receiver and suddenly looked better. It doesn’t mean Bryce would turn into a great QB if we drafted Ja’Marr Chase or traded for AJ Brown. But it’d certainly help!

 

Like honestly the Texans drafting Dell and Nico in the THIRD and signing a very good TE (Schultz)… while the Panthers traded away CMC and Moore, drafted two busts at TE and then signed another bust to be their TE1 (Hurst) and drafted TMJ in the SECOND

that tells you everything you need to know about why Bryce is struggling so hard. He makes mistakes sure but @Swoos is also right that he ain’t getting any help. For like 35 year old Adam Thielen to be your best weapon is sad.

 

Nico never looked that good with Mills really

flashes here and there but not this consistency

now he looks like a low end WR1/high end WR2

 

no doubt. it is the bleakest roster in the league lol. it is a bad QB and a bad coach and a bad gm and bad skill players.

 

Mills is god awful though

it’s like, I even like Josh Dobbs but he makes Jordan Addison less startable in fantasy even though he had 7 TD in 7 games with Cousins

mills / Nico is the worse version of that haha
