Fall Out Boy is not going to play FUCT in full, there's zero reason to do that as they draw/move tickets well enough without resorting to that (at least, for the time being).

Had no idea Tate McRae was big enough to do MSG but I guess since she did 2x at a 4k venue here, makes sense.

It's definitely about a sense of community, identity and nostalgia. You could have done wwwy 90's or 00's, and it would have been fine, but they catered it to a very unique genre and it killed because of it. I had so much fun both years just running into people in Vegas who were obviously part of that scene, and the quality of lineup from top to bottom was amazing. Even the so called smaller crowds, were so dedicated. Finch this year, and Glassjaw and the starting line up were 2 from last year.

I'd tend to agree with you but... I also would have said the same thing about MCR and a Black Parade album play.

This feels like WWYF throwing money at these artists to make it happen. Would FOB say "no" to a huge paycheck to do it once? They might, actually. But this is the one instance where I might say it's a possibility (assuming the bit about MCR is accurate).

    Things have changed.

FOB isn't going to do an album play.

It's possible for sure but given they're still a very active and fairly relevant band, would seem like a bad move brand-wise. I was thinking about it the other day and FOB is essentially in the same kind of phase of their career that U2 was in with All That You Can't Leave Behind. A semi-return to form that reignited interest in them, fanbase is happy and they seem to be doing fairly well commercially (though I'm not sure this album has yielded as much of a big hit as the others).

Playing older songs in the context of a live show is MUCH different than doing an entire album, in terms of FOB.

Also can we just point out that we have had “X” argument before and the end answer always is money. Fallout Boy may never do an album tour (that I agree with) but they definitely would play and album from front to back at a show for the right amount.

Money talks. I wouldn't count out any band doing anything, especially if the reasoning is it doesn't fit their brand.

I think we're on the same page, TBH. Haha. The band's in a great spot with a lot of goodwill and it's something they don't need to do. LiveNation's just got deep pockets which can sometimes change minds is all I'm saying. But I do also wonder how much demand there is for that album play, anyway, in the context of a giant festival set and... I don't know.

Anyway. I've been swayed by you and others. I don't think it's likely. But I do think if it were to happen anytime soon? This festival set would be it.

I feel like fall out boy are playing into nostalgia a bit though with there magic ball concept. I know so many people that went to there tour last year just for the chance to hear a couple old deep cuts live. Or just there semi return to there old sound on the new album. I still think like half of the fan base is waiting for a full album play of old material

Their agent would probably ask for $4-5MM to do an album play. Oddly enough, as much as I love FOB, I don't know if many of their albums work well front to back played to a 50-60k crowd. FUCT's energy will drag slightly in the middle. Also what is the significance of doing it in 2024, the 19th anniversary?

I mean it would make more sense for MCR to do 3 cheers then black parade

Of course a FUCT album-play would generate hype. That was their breakthrough album, that has their big hits… Nostalgia is serious business these days

It’s the theme of the festival. They’re not anniversaries. Every band is playing one of their popular records in full

Saw Depeche Mode in Toronto last night…holy shit, for a band their age the energy is just unreal. It felt like a religious experience, the vocals were just perfection.

DIIV also opened and fucking ruled, def check out this tour if it’s near you.

Saw two legs of this tour, was great. They have quietly been one of the most consistent acts over the last 40 years as they don't have an outwardly bad record.

I was shocked at how fresh and modern it felt for a legacy act. Highlyyyyyy reccomend.
