On the Sean McDermott note, yeah, I get why fans would want the Bills to move on from him. Dude has been the head coach since 2017, but hasn’t made it to the super bowl despite having Josh Allen and one of the best teams in the league for four years now.

Seems like they continue to run into the same problems across multiple seasons. They can beat the Chiefs in the regular season, but can’t seem to beat them in the playoffs. The Bengals have their number. Their defense has relied on the players, who continue to get older, year after year and the organization isn’t hitting on young players in the draft. Stefon Diggs is getting older and they continue to basically roll with the same WR corps year over year even though Gave Davis is certifiably Not That Dude.

Allen is routinely asked to play hero ball, which was cool in 2020 and 2021, but it’s time for the team to take the next step on offense (and on defense too). If I’m a Bills fan, I’d be frustrated because it seems they’ve continued to do the same thing the last two offseasons expecting different results while other teams in the conference, and arguably in their own division, have lapped them.

For a head coach hired in 2017 on a team that has had super bowl aspirations for most of his duration, it’s time to see some better results, but they’ve only been to one AFC championship game (which was almost three years ago) and they were pantsed by the Chiefs.

At some point, enough is enough.

I've brought it up before (because why wouldn't I?) but KC trading up to get McDuffie reaaaaallly sucked for them

 

idk, making moves mainly because of playoff outcomes is basically just limiting your sample to like 1/15th of what you normally have and solely basing your decisioning off of that; small sample size is weird

there will probably eventually be a point where he’s not as effective at getting the team motivated and prepared and it’d probably make sense to move on then, but idk if that’s definitively now or if they miss the playoffs once or anything

 

There’s another head coach who was hired back in 2017 who you could argue many of the same points for, but he doesn’t have a QB close to the caliber of player Allen is, which makes it even more compelling of an argument

I think the Bills are past the point of only caring about regular season success. They have graduated to super bowl contenders and that’s what they should be aiming for.
