To be fair, you don't have to know anything about music theory to know that the chord you're playing is an E chord. The fact that he says "find this dot right here.. I think it's 7" and "I think this is some sort of E shape" is pathetic. The fact that he even says "I'm not gonna be much help to you guys with your 'THEORIES' and what not".... theories? Plural?

I don't doubt the guy can absolutely nail their four chord jams, but I don't see him writing anything other than basic chord progressions if he doesn't even know what (power) chords he's playing in one of their biggest hits.

i love every member of the foo fighters, but i don't really love any of their music. i want dave grohl as a best friend though.

 

Dave Grohl is a much better drummer than he is a songwriter

Every Santana song since "Smooth" has sucked and sounded exactly the same though. For a world-renowned guitarist he doesn't offer much variety in his solos.

 

No one knows and no one is sharing, last I checked. I'm sure it will surface eventually.
