I saw a post that linked back to all 3 of the girls in the video and they're not even actresses from what I could tell. They're "internet famous" vine/youtube/instagram people. That girl has 9 million followers on instagram.

 

Yes, she got big by posting vines. Not sure how/why she's in these videos besides her being internet famous.

 

Probably exactly for being internet famous. If all 3 of them have millions of followers, that's a lot of views from people who will watch it for just them alone.

Do you guys think She's Out Of Her Mind could climb to #1 on the charts? I'm not so sure now if they released it during the tour right when Bored to Death got knocked out I would have had no doubt. I think they really dropped the ball waiting so long to push a second single.

 

Is this serious? It takes a lot to weird me out, but this has done the trick.

 

I don't think so. I'm basing it purely on the fact that even the blink community is about 50/50 on whether they like the song or not. I feel like 90% of the blink community likes Bored to Death and SOOHM is such a toss up, I don't see it fairing well.

Who knows. Maybe the music video will help based on pure nostalgia. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.

It's up to 28, moving slowly but steadily. Being released to Alternative radio last week will help, but no way it has the chart life that Bored to Death had.

I'm still under the impression that 'Sober' would have been a huge summer hit

 

They probably plan on releasing it as a single next summer haha

 

During the meet and greet at the concert, Mark told me there had been talk of Sober being a single but they went with SOOHM instead for now. So you may be right lol

What's the story with Oct 20th other than the new video? They're promoting "new music" and "new show." Is that just a plug for the Flash Frame feature or something? Or will be we getting some other blink videos/performances on that date?

 

I think it's a plug for Flash Frame, and Blink just happens to be the first band on it, premiering their new music video. That's what I got out of it, at least.

 

Music video is pretty boring. Just WMAA with the girls. Pretty mailed in but whatever.

I'm not gonna get as bent out of shape over it as Reddit has lol.

Worst blink-182 music video to date. Lazy, already done twice and it has nothing to do with the song itself (like it had with "What's My Age Again?").

For band with a such great videography in its first run, this marks a new low (I think "After Midnight" is the only above average video they've had since the reunion and even that is barely so...). I just wish there was more care and passion within the group so that they would come out with better concepts or hire someone skilled enough to do that.

All this does is reinvigorate the stereotype that blink is fully comprised of dick jokes and has no substance (which was never the case). I'm all for funny videos - the Foo Fighters are a great example, churning out great humorous ones years after years -, but gives us something new, not a braindead rehash. Personally, I'm not ready to see my favorite band become a "legacy act", a nostalgia trick...

And I have to disagree about music videos not mattering. They are an art form like any other and their relevance is beyond the attention they may or not get (which is still a lot, just not on the tv). There are well-thought-out clips released every month...

Hugely disappointing, even though I don't watch music videos anymore. This is a band that can actually attribute a portion of their main stream success to the fact that they came up with very entertaining music videos. They were way better off doing something similar to the Bored to Death video rather than try and imitate something they've already imitated, I really want to believe the label forced them to sign off on this.

 

Music videos mattering/being relevant and being an art form are two very distinct points.
