I know it's been touched on a few times in this thread, but the idea that bedroom Reddit'ers believe their techniques and knowledge of what the general public wants to hear in a mix is astounding to me.

I'm not an engineer/specialist by any means, but the mix is fine on this album as is. Good. Clean. A few muddy parts sure, nothing that requires "fixing" though. Travis killed it.

 

Does it detail how they went about making it? because that would be hilarious to read.

This sounds like ass. The guitars sound way too loud and you can barely even hear the vocals. Sounds like he just turned the volume down a bit and then cranked the mids. Haha. Fail.

Oh no. I haven’t found the Reddit thread but I imagine that person being like 12 and excited to show what they did in isolation in their room and I get so much second hand cringe and feel bad. Lol.

 

Dumb question: How can anyone remix/remaster a song without the raw tracks? Or do I have a complete misunderstanding of what mixing and mastering is?

I'm confused cause I never favorited or heart reacted any of them, only added the entire album. And I skip One More Time the track the most often, so no way in hell lol.
