Thats good news for the attendees here. I'll try to remember to compare merch sales when the tour is over. 5 bux to anyone that wants to bet ADTR outsells GC

 

I agree that GC was huge at one point in their career and had much bigger hits. But ADTR has a very strong fanbase and does bigger venues. I’m not surprised that ADTR is headlining over GC.

I mean, NFG even opened for ADTR a while back too.

Or idk, I haven’t been into ADTR since like, early high school, so maybe I’m way off

 

Man if that rumored new found glory good charlotte tour was this with adtr and boys like girls. That would be huge. 4 big pop punk bands. I bet they could even do sheds.

At least on par. I could see them selling out the pit area if they didn't open up the lawns for the venues.

I'm not arguing that. I wasn't saying whether it was justified or not, I'd say it's completely valid to have disdain for the band at this point in their career after everything that's been brought to light. And also, the fact remains they have not lost steam in spite of all that's come to light in the public eye.

 

ADTR has been selling out my local 5,500 cap venue for like 10 years and I don't see why that would have slowed down at all. I imagine there will probably be a new album on the way for this tour.

You know what that's fair, I was just speaking off the cuff and should have picked my phrasing better especially for something I know many people feel strongly about. I apologize for the wording of my initial post.

Highly doubtful. Part of ADTR’s fanbase probably won’t even want to hit that tour up because of who is opening.

 

And then another part of their fanbase would also probably not go to that show because it's in a shed.

 

I could’ve sworn the last two tours ADTR did sold terribly

 

ADTR still has draw for sure, but they could be doing SO much better if they leaned into the nostalgia angle. They're one of the bigger bands in the scene and surprisingly haven't done anything in the line of throwback setlists or album plays.

I don't really listen to any of those bands but did not realize that GC and ADTR sound remotely alike or even share the same fan base.

 

They don’t really sound alike, but there’s a ton of people (me included) for whom GC was their intro to pop punk and ADTR was their intro to hardcore.

 

Has anyone heard if the next Stones tour is football stadiums as usual?

A buddy is convinced it’ll be baseball stadiums because of the MLB variants of the records.

 

Would love to see ADTR do a For Those Who Have Heart tour. A Homesick tour would be cool to. They're newer stuff hasn't really stuck for me though.
