Really appreciating all the different choices everyone is picking, no matter how varying and unique they may be.

@irthesteve Any chance we can change one round to holiday songs? I need my fix

Jimmy Eat World has been on my mind because we watched the One Tree Hill episode in which they “perform” a couple of songs haha

I'm not opposed to it, but I will put it to a vote so everyone has a say!! :-) I'll put a quick poll together tomorrow.

  6. Depending whether or not we want to start a new league like immediately after this one ends, it might make sense to do a holiday round for round one of season two? Considering season one only goes til mid December. But I could go either way. It’s a good theme that we probably wouldn’t do in any other time of year

Definitely true, and for "season two" I think I am happy to start right away or to wait til the new year so we avoid the busy holidays, I could put that to a vote too haha!

I was thinking recently a fun one could be like... Holiday songs that don't say "Christmas" or songs that aren't specifically holiday songs, but feel like it

That was a good week, really enjoyed reading all the comments as well!

Yeah I like how there was a nice even spread of votes this week, nothing really stood out as being a rough choice. Glad to have introduced the Chorus FM masses to Sly Withers too, they rip and they seem like nice boys (they're very cognisant of shitty crowd behavious during gigs and call it out if things are getting too rough)

  10. Yeah the comments this week were a good read. I’m semi happy that I’m not the only one largely unfamiliar with PJ Harvey

I need to actually start writing comments on songs haha. I didn't expect to find myself really enjoying Swiss rap or jazz, but here we are

Thanks for listening to my song y’all! I legitimately looked for some old recordings of the only other band in my high school but I could find any.

Didn't know it was you!! I honestly found it really intriguing and clever, my comment about the vocals shouldn't be taken poorly, I did like the effects!

For context, this is probably my favorite modern Swiss rap song haha

@trevorshmevor I think you had the comment about your local rap scene maybe not really being a thing. Which area are you talking about?

    We need the essay now

  17. I grew up in Tempe, Arizona. But yeah I was also definitely not making really any attempts to engage with whatever local hip hop scene there may have been when I was younger. Closest I had were cousins that could rap “if only they could get some studio time” lol

There was a rap rock band called Chronic Future that sorta popped off for a bit, and that was pretty much it til around 2007 when a Gym Class Heroes type of band called Katastro came up. But it didn’t really start a trend - they mostly just wound up playing with all the pop punk bands lol. Then later we had Injury Reserve sorta take off

I’m glad I snuck in on this. I knew this would be right up my street, love finding any new music, old stuff I’ve not heard or new bands.

The playlists have a been an absolute joy.

I heard that PJ Harvey album what seems to be the Chorus way….’older brother had the cd’

Loved that album, I feel like twenty one pilots completely built a career of that albums style

  22. Honestly couldn’t tell you! Was never too familiar with them as a band or as people. I was surprised to look them up just now and discover they only had the one record though!

I'm going to have to think hard about this next prompt, there's a lot of good picks but I want to pick the one I think really really works

I have an idea for one, but the original never officially released. There's a recording of it though. Would that count?

I always say.... You can submit what you want to, but it's up to everyone voting if they agree with you or not!
