Pillman did lose me when he wore that ‘fuck cancel culture’ shirt or whatever. Major self report obviously, but after that they gave him big promos and he fell so flat.

Roman is a good example, i’d say the heel turn was what made him find his niche, but think about the all gas, no brakes push he needed to get for YEARS to find that sweet spot. It almost never happens that way.

 

In fairness, everyone but vince knew that was a bad idea and he shoulda gone heel much much much sooner. The only reason it took him so long to find his spot is because he was consistently asked to do dumb things lol

 

It was a similar ordeal to Cena too, they didn't want to hurt merch sales. Gotta credit them for finding how to make him heel and still keep the merch moving.
