I admittedly do not follow college football and prospects that deeply so it wouldn't surprise me if what I scroll past on twitter is just nonsense from Dov and Florio and those types of accounts and not even realize its them lol

One of those was actually just spread by some random like sub-10k follower account that somehow kept getting retweeted despite people pointing out he's just some random person

 

Imagine if Murph and Josh reported on the NFL.

So based off the stats I regard as red flags, the closest NFL comparisons are Josh Dobbs, Cardale Jones, and Jacoby Brissett. That's uh...well it's not great.

actually i think grimace calling me dov is the meanest thing because at least with @JRShoenberger 's post there was a chance i was Florio

 

i'm just pointing out what the numbers say. he could absolutely be an outlier and he looks great and is touted as the #1 overall prospect for a reason. it's also true that right now, according to very predictive stats, he's in an area that has a 0% hit rate.

 

Also, Dov Kleiman is trash, it's fuckin stupid that "aggregators" can just share anything without fact checking and get a lot of followers & retweets and get people paying them to promote articles, without doing one iota of good faith journalism themselves

sports journalists are like a fraternity so i'm not saying they're great but Dov literally does nothing but wait for his Twitter feed to repopulate, click "reshare" and have AI type him a headline. Dude doesn't even fact check shit, doesn't have any connections or an ear on the ground, and people spread his bullshit like it's gospel

yeah but by that same logic, find me a successful NFL quarterback in the last 15 years that only completed 54% of their passes, won less than 50% of their games, and didn't even have a 2:1 TD INT ratio in college.

because Anthony Richardson was in an area, statistically, that had a 0% hit rate as well, and still nobody batted an eye at him going 4th overall

 

Accuracy percentage isn't really that predictive though. Richardson also avoided pressures and sacks at a near peerless rate. That's a far more predictive stat.

 

How can you say that for sure if there isn't even much of a sample size for successful NFL QBs who were that inaccurate and that turnover prone in college

My point is that stats can help but they aren't entirely predictive

I also kinda don't agree with this. Completion percentage maybe doesn't measure how accurate an arm is like most people presume... But it does measure how often they're avoiding risks. They're both important.

 

There are stats that are much more predictive than others though. Wins do not matter and never have. TD:INT ratio also does not matter. AR wasn't turnover prone either. He was as turnover prone as Herbert and Tua.
