For me, I got into both albums at the same time basically. There’s just far more on Dude Ranch that doesn’t hold up as well or doesn’t generally appeal to me as it did at age 13. Like Dammit was one of the first songs I learned on bass and then guitar. I just think the band got better and better before the first break up.

 

I think it’s unrealistic to expect anything this late in the discography to disrupt those 4. If anything, nostalgia is always going to win out. It’s probably why i’m even ranking this as high as I am above Nine (which I love).

 

It’s not unrealistic. I already have done it. Look at me now, dad!

Yeah but when YDKWYG premiered he played a little interview clip talking to them about the song

While I appreciate the sentiment of the song, it's by far my least favorite single. I don't mind redundant choruses, but this one bothers me for some reason. And the music is just too reminiscent of multiple other Blink songs. Regardless, to not like one out of six singles, I'll take that .833 batting average.

 

Untitled, Dude Ranch and Enema are my untouchables. As much as TOYPAJ was the peak blink times, I don't come back to it as much as those three or Nine

 

Love the song. Agree that it has heavy +44 vibes.

That bridge really elevates it too. Amazing how after Neighborhoods & Dogs Eating Dogs having the laziest bridges ever, they've done a complete 180 on this album. All the bridges have been killer!


(well except title track and Fell in Love, which just don't have a bridge at all lol)

It’s not though. I like every song on Nine. I can’t say that for Dude Ranch.



Also, forget where someone posted it, but someone was saying the new song had weird time signatures. It’s all 4/4. Not sure what they were referencing.

Part of me really wants to hold off on the interview till after hearing the album, but if it's like his previous ones with no clips, I'm gonna watch today. I figured those were added just for the album trailer anyways. Just too damn excited for them to dive into all the topics we've been dying to hear about since their reunion.

However, i am holding off on any reviews/leaks/new songs. I've waited this long. I can make it (I think...)
